Has anyone DM'd or adventured in this setting? How did you find it?

I have only DMed Halruaa as a place that PCs passed through, and that was back during 2nd Edition days. It was great for showing the PCs all sorts of wonders, and the PCs got a chance to travel on an airship from point A to point B, but it was mainly just to reinforce the mystical, mythical nature of the place to the PCs, and they didn't stay long. This was pre-Coucillors and Kings Trilogy, 2nd Edition Shining South information, and I was spurred on to introducing the country because I liked Dwalimor Omen from the Forgotten Realms comic. |

And if I remember correctly, he is mentioned in the Halruaa section of the 3E Shining South. I believe that same tome also described the rattlyr.
Rod, are you familiar with the Counselors and Kings trilogy, and either the 2E or the 3E Shining South sourcebooks? |

Interesting. I've agreed to DM a Halruaa game, and I find that it's almost another campaign setting altogether. |

I read a little of the first book of the trilogy. I have read the 2E sourcebook, and have the 3E on order. |

And for some sweet "strange wonder" ideas you might also want to check out the FR novel "Murder in Halruaa". A bumpy funny ride, which offers some nice ideas. |

Read the rest of the trilogy. It gives a lot more of a "life on the ground" view of the country, and you will doubtless be able to pluck some ideas from there... Plus it's a good trilogy! |

Oh yes, he's in there -- in the timeline as I recall .
