Any good pretige classes for the bard out there, Realms specific would rock.

Just off the top of my head (don't have the books in front of me)
FR-specific: Spellsinger Warrior Skald (Races of Faerun) Harper Agent (Player's Guide to Faerun)
Core: Virtuoso Sublime Chord (Complete Adventurer) Seeker of the 'something' Song (forgot which book) |

Sure--- an indicator of what you're looking forward to would help, though. |

I don't know yet. I'm looking for a bard that can handle himself in a melee. Right now he's level 10 and does a lot of running away and area effect spells from a distance. |

Isn't there a Realms-specific bard prestige class called Foclucan Lyrist? Isn't that named after a specific bard college in the Realms, maybe in Silverymoon or Waterdeep or somewhere? |

War chanter from Complete Warrior is your best bet, then. |

How about Bladesinger? The version in the Races of Faerun is every power gamer's dream |

The best bard PrC -- for melee purposes - is in my humble opinion: the Warrior Skald, from Races of Faerun. Your spells stop improving, but your bardic music keeps getting stronger, with a bunch of new and impressive applications, and you gain fighter-like BAB progression (+1 BAB at each level... and I 'think' you gain d10 hit points on top of that! but check this one just to make sure...) |

Have you checked out Bladesinger in Races of Faerun? You get the fighter's BAB progression, plus all the necessary "boost" spells (Haste, Keen Edge, Cat's Grace...etc.). And those class features are totally out of balance (just like those of 'Hammer of Moradin').
Fighter 9/Wizard 1/Bladesinger 10 is a tough to beat in melee... |

Hm, that is quite good, and I'd forgotten about it completely. Thanks! |
