Greetings, I was reading at the WOTC boards and came across someone asking bout warrior type harpers. I was wondering if a monk could qualify too. Perhaps if he followed one of the Harper friendly Gods or something, I was thinking along the lines of Oghma...would that work?

Although Monk isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind when you think "Harper", there is no reason why they cannot be members of the organization.
The Harpers as a whole tend not to be lawful but it is not prohibited. The Harper Agent PrC has "non-evil" as a requirement and everything else is pretty easy to meet as a monk character...

Precisely... My impression of the group is that they range over a wide spectrum of subclasses... |

Traditionally, any class of character can join the Harpers -- as noted in Code of the Harpers.

Precisely. That is also the general idea one gets from reading various novels with the Harpers in them. |

A Blackguard may have a slightly difficult time. |

I'm away from my source material at the moment, but I'm pretty certain that membership in the Harpers is restricted to non-evil folks. Khelben might be able to use your blackguard, though... |

Considering that potential PCs wishing to join the Harpers must have an alignment that specifies a "freedom from evil"... I would say that tells us that evil folk are not usually permitted among the Harpers as a whole.

"Perish the thought, Sir Hamster. Blackguards are just as intractable and inflexible as their paladin counterparts, and they are much harder on the furniture, friends, and the like. Nay, I have as little to do with them as I do with paladins--truth be told, Piergeiron is among the very few with whom I can hold a conversation for long." K |

Oh, I wasn't expecting any to pop up among the Tel'Teukiira -- but I could see Khelben manipulating a blackguard into stirring up trouble somewhere, to the benefit of the Moonstars. |

Whose to say that he already hasn't done so...
Khelben makes a habit of pulling at the strings of others -- both good and evil -- I would imagine that more than one Blackguard, who thought his ill actions brought some measure of profit to his church, ended up furthering the cause of the Moonstars at some point thanks largely to the plans and designs of our favorite Manipulator Archmage .
