After doing some research on the Old Empires in the FRCS, I decided to cross reference it with the information in FR10, and thus, I am confused.

According to FR10, there is a group in the Greenfields of Unther, the Enclave, led by a 24th level LG wizard name Isimud. There is also an organization in Messemprar called the Northern Wizards, led by a wizard named Shurlash, who is 16th level.

Now, in between FR10 and the FRCS, Mulhorand invaded Unther after Gilgeam was killed by Tiamat, and even before all of this happened, during the riots in Messemprar, the Northern Wizards secretly took over the city.

The Greenfields, once the breadbasket of Unther, has been trampled to ruin by the Mulhorandi military.

Okay, I get it so far. Now, according to the FRCS, the Northern Wizard's formost member is a Wiz 15/Dev of Mystra 3, NG, named Isimud. Is this suppose to be the same Isimud that was leader of the Enclave? I get that the Enclave likely had to bug out of the Greenfields, and Isimud and his group could have easily merged with the Northern Wizards during the invasion. But Isimud almost seems like an amalgam of Isimud and Shurlash.

I know 2nd edition and 3rd don't translate directly over, but shifting him from 24 to 18th seems like a drop no mattter what the edition changes might have been. And while its not impossible, it seems strange that he shifted from LG to NG as well.

Is there any other information on these events that I missed? Does anyone know for sure that this Isimud is suppose to be the Isimud from the Enclave? Just wanted to know if anyone has any concrete information, and thanks.

I'm not sure but it sounds like you figured it out.

BTW, there are quite a few NPC's in the FRCS that lost levels for no reason that I can fathom, or had thier alignments and or gender changed.

One that I can remember off hand, for levels, is the guild master of Baldur's Gate. He lost 5 levels in his stats in the FRCS, going from 19th to 14th.

And let's not forgot Cylyria Dragonbreast. She changed a whole race from half-elf to human. :)

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

That had to be a shock to at least one of her parents!

Indeed. :) Plus she's screwed with her bardic levels because of her alignment is NG and bards in 3/3.5e are not allowed to not have a Chaotic something in thier alignments. Hells, she even went from LN to NG as well. :)

WOTC really did a job on her stats. Surprised they didn't just make her male. :)

Well basic rule on conversion of muti-class/duel-class from second to third was total levels equaled highest level plus 1/3 of other levels for total character levels. Select levels in any number that was desired.

Example Figter 9/ Wiz 3 would have a total of 10 charater levels. You could translate this to a Fighter 1 and Wiz 9 (pushing conversion rules to the limit of course). IAE conversion for any holding more then one class would lose levels. As far as sex change, short of Lolth Priests and some charaters in Battlestar I have not noticed them, nor realy caused me much concern.

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards."
"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

Of course, using that logic, and noting that Isimud is a single classed character, he would still be 24th level, or perhaps a wiz 21/dev of Mystra 3. I somehow suspect that there was some caving to the anti high level NPC crowd, who, ironcially, usually just critisize FR rather than play in it.

Oh, since this was the FRCS, I guess that should read wiz 17/dev of Mystra 3/epic 3 . . . but you get the point.

Nope.

Bards in 3E/3.5E are not allowed to have Lawful in their alignment. That might help explain the change from LN to NG.

That's what I meant, but I posted it wrong. Even so, she's still screwed. :)

Indeed!

Of course, I'm just ashamed that I know something about bards... but my excuse is that I recently reworked the class a little to try and make it a viable choice mechanically.
