Ok so my character is traveling in a weak 1st level party of mostly non combat oriented wizards... i think. So we are going to Suzail but we disagree on which would be best (safest and least conspicuous).

the travel routes are

candlekeep ---> Beregost ---> Baldur's Gate ---> Elturel ---> Berdusk ---> Iriaebor ---> Easting --->
and heres where we really disagree

Option a=
Proskur ---> Highhorn ---> Espar ---> Way Moot ---> Suzail

Option b= Priepurl ---> Elversult ---> Ilipur ---> Suzail.

If any of tha sages have advice on which is the preferred route or another route altogether it would be much appreciated.
I know option b is better bcause the zhentarim arent a problem that way (they are worse to deal with than greedy pirates) also elversult is a safe place to be. Cormyr might be suspicious if i came through highhorn, right?

anyway tell em what u all think and if you have CANON advice

i guess everyone thinks they are the same in terms of safety... i was thinking that over the dragonsea would be easier and faster

faster and easier are not always better, I have learned with the realms, short cuts make long cuts. coming through Highhorn, in my opinion, would not be too suspicious. Just make sure you have a good reason for the things you are doing. If you have something to hide or don't really need the purple dragons looking too deep into your business, maybe another route would be best, regardless if Suzail is your desintation, my thinking is a port would be more difficult to get into. I would also ask what are the levels of the party and maybe look into what are some of teh known dangers that could be chanced upon. Every DM would run it different. Ask for local lore

anyways, my 2 cents worth

after thought, you already stated that the company was 1st level. maybe look into hiring some mercenary muscle or recruit a couple npc fighter types to help you out, especially if the party is mostly mages.
