I have a group of players going through this area. I really have not been able to find much on this area much less where it got its names. Are there any good references for this area or modules?

Well met!
Never even heard of it... where is it located? |

Hmm I could not find much however fromweb , which might not be canon I found this quote.
"After Llorkh, the PCs pass through the Dawn Pass and then into the lands of the Beastlord near the Ruins of Dekanter, where mindflayer and beholder encounters are on the agenda, before the PCs ride on through Pelleor's Prairie in the Backlands of the Sword Coast to Yarthrain."
That should at least help point toward location.
I also found this " PELLEOR'S PRAIRIE- (between the Hill of Lost Souls and the Marsh of Chelmiber)" that might indicate the location its location.
As for why named Pelleor's I have no clue. Much like where someother names that occur, might have to ask the author. It appears likely that the name is derived from a person. Perhaps one that settled there or any other posible reasons. |

Pelleor's Prairie is the flat grassy plain that surrounds the Hill of Lost Souls. Supposedly Pelleor is a soldier from "the Battle of Bones" who did not pass on when he 'died' and now wonders the area.
Check out Elminster's Ecologies, Appendix One: The Hill of Lost Souls for a lot more detail. |
