In the FRCS it lists all the Uthgardt tribes and their ritual enemies. The Blue Bear tribe was listed as another tribes enemy and then states that the Blue Bears are deceased. I seem to remember there being more to the story from the original 2nd edition stuff. What happened to the Blue Bear Tribe? Was their demise listed in any FR material?

As I recall, the 2e Savage Frontier tome recounts the sinister details.

The Blue Bear tribe was being led by a hag. This hag got involved with demons, and I believe also got involved in the destruction of Hellgate Keep somehow (recommend checking the history section of that module).

Not just the history section... there are tidbits about the Blue Bear tribe and its connection to the events at Hellgate Keep spread throughout the entire adventure module.

Tanta Hagara, if I remember correctly. Her hagspawn son is listed in City of Splendors. Hagar Hlutwigson, who has a ban of Uthgardt cast offs serving him as thugs in Waterdeep.

You'll find the Blue Bear tribe plays a small part in Son of Thounder. One former member puts in an appearance; I certainly affirm the "party line" that the tribe is extinct, however.

Definately looking forward to that one. The Uthgardt have been a favorite of mine since I read Savage Frontier a LONG time ago.

While the tribe in name is extinct, surviving members have been 'absorbed' into the Tree Ghost tribe. See also LEoF for information on the Uthgardt.

Yes, the blue bear kicked the bucket, but the tree ghost is still up and running. What happened to the survivors? Did all of them join the tree ghost?

If I were a ranger, I would pick NDA for my favorite enemy

I would hazard a guess that such a defining term has intentionally been left out for potential future use. One could imagine a plot germinating around a resurrection of the Blue Bear tribe.

I would wonder about them maybe moving north and filling in the void in Icewind Dale area since the Battle of Ten Towns and Wulgar's subsequent revival of Settlestone effectively removed much of the native population of barbs from the region.

Except that most of them moved back to Ten Towns after the battle with the drow of Menzoberranzan.

True, but their numbers were seriously curtailed, Tribe of the Elk was the dominant one, but the years of war had to have taken their toll on the already-devestated tribes. After the Battle of Ten Towns, the 4 or 5 tribes were all basically wiped out and consolidated into one.

Oh boy, now I really can't wait for this book.

If I remember correctly the Tribe was wiped after attacking Citadel of the Mists, in search of the lost armories of the Daemonfey.
