126-128: Eric Boyds Vampire Trilogy 129: The Twisted Run by Will Upchurch 130: Within the Circle By Sam Brown
Within the Circle preview:
"The hamlet of Thistle has a problem. The river they depend upon for trade and food was recently poisoned with a tide of filth, and a goblin named Belig has claimed responsibility. If the people of Thistle don't pay a ransom, Belig has promised them much worse will come with the next poison tide. A FORGOTTEN REALMS adventure for 1st-level characters."

Hmmm ... doesn't really ring any bells here. It'll be interesting to see just how "Realmsian" this last adventure will be.

I don't recall any references to Thistle. Hmmm... Perhaps it was created solely for this adventure.
Does anyone have a link for Sam Brown? Maybe we can get him to hop through the nearest portal to Candlekeep and share a little info...

A quick search through the various Cormyr PDFs reveals little -- at least, no towns or hamlets with the name of Thistle.
As for the Realmslore reference... there's a Year of the Thistle (885 DR). Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I have the exact same feeling, but I don't even know where to start looking. |

I seem to remember something too, which means a 3e source-maybe a reference to a small town somewhere?
EDIT: Reportedly a Westgate Dynasty contains a Thistle, and there was a character named such in Masquerades... |

There's a Lord Partic Thistle (whom I suspect of being named after a Glaswegian football-team) in Four From Cormyr. |
