I don't know why I let things like this bother me, and I really don't want to rant too much about the original poster, given that I don't know them, but on the Paizo site, there is a thread talking about the Shackled City Adventure Path from Dungeon Magazine and wondering where Cauldron (the main city in the adventures) should be set. Eric Boyd pointed out that the placement of elements in the Age of Worms sets the city on the Chultan Penninsula, north of Sammarach, in the Sanrach Mountain range.

Immediately several of the posters start to assume that for one, Chultan Penninsula equates to Chult only, and starts mentioning that a place with dinosaurs, wild dwarves, and a tribal feel isn't good for a city that appears to be "european" in flavor.

Argh. I did my best to post the nations in the region, how Cauldron actually could have been an offshoot of Thindol, since that country is shown as loosing control of several parts of the nation, what the potential racial makeup of the country is, and all of that.

I guess I am biased, but what is the point of using a campaign setting if you aren't going to do any research on a particular region. Heck, if you are just going to do such cursory once over for a region, why are you even concerned about weather the region "fit" with the city at all? I guess my brain just doesn't work like everyone elses . . . or so my wife says
