Please someone fill me in on this.
I picked up the Greyhawk book "Queen of the Demonweb Pits" simply because it's titled thus.
And the Spider Queen - Lolth, who else, supposedly "DIED" at the hands of the Justicar's party?
Huh??? Is there any connection between Lolth in Greyhawk, and Lolth in Forgotten Realms?? Can she die off in another plane and be starting a war and birthing children back here in War of the Spider Queen..?
Did I miss something?? Please, the wise sages, scribes, scholars abound in Candlekeep, please fill me in.

Killing gods is like killing cockroaches. You`re never able to get rid of them for good.......The spider queen in Greyhawk died, and the one in FR lives. I don`t really understand all of this but that`s how it is. |
If I were a ranger, I would pick NDA for my favorite enemy |

you can find out some answers to your question in here http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/fr/annihilationinterview
also in the finder's stone trilogy they killed Moander twice. after the first time he still had power in other prime material planes, so the heroes had to go to his own plane to permanently kill him.
hope that helps |
I am Talanfir Swiftfeet. (In)famous across the Swoardcoast as "Tal the Swift", Brandobaris´ seraph of mischief. If ye find yer shoelaces tied together while trying to catch a thief or meet a king who is angry because somebody switched the places of his chamberpot and his crown, ye can usually (try to) find me near.
If I had a halfling mother and a human father, would I be a half-halfling or a threequarterling? |

There is currently no canonical World of Greyhawk continuity (except that used for Living Greyhawk).
If there was, Paul Kidd's novels wouldn't be part of it. In the canonical version of the events of the GDQ modules, as described in T1-4 The Temple of Elemental Evil, what occurs is described as 'a sharp check to Lolth', not her death.
If they were, Queen of the Demonweb Pits takes place a couple of decades behind the 'current' time of Oerth (before 579 CY).
There's also no definitive link between time on Oerth and time in the Realms.
Even then, the death of Oerth-Lolth only possibly affects Toril-Lolth in the Faiths & Avatars cosmology, and they're entirely separate in the 3E-Realms one.
(Re the interview: do people really talk about 'the Forgotten Realms world'? That's like saying 'the Earth world' or 'the football sport'. It's 'the Realms', man.) |
