New to the Realms and my players and I have decided to adventure in Aglarond as our starting point. The characters are a half-elf rogue and an elf druid. They have both decided not to be native to Aglarond, so I was thinking of having them encounter each other in the capital and then somehow end up in the Yuirwood, where they (hopefully) will integrate into a community and use that as their home base.

I have Unapproachable East and am in the process of getting Spellbound. What other resources are out there for Aglarond?

Well met, Gibbering Mouther

...and welcome to Candlekeep

The Spellbound box is indeed a spendid source of information for this location. For an updated resource and a very fine tome on this region, take a look at Unapproachable East.

You could also read The Farthest Reach, the 2nd book in The Last Mythal trilogy.

The main characters in the book travel to Aglarond and enters the Yuirwood to find the realm of the Star elves.

You could also try "The Simbul's Gift", which provides quite a lot of detail on the habits and culture of the Yuir elves (half-elves, really), and the Simbul's relation with them.
