There is no one specific novel that deals with that. There are tidbits in various El novels by Ed.
I would suggest you track down a copy of Code of the Harpers, a sourcebook, which details the origins and creation of the Harpers.

Well, the first ones I can think of are the Arcane age, or Netheril trilogy. Its out of print, but I thinl that's the books that will have the most information on Netheril. |

also the nether scrolls and (scererar ducks) the return of the arch wizards trilogy hints at some lore from that time period. |

Hello again. I was looking for the avatar series on this very site and I fell on books called avatar adventure trilogy. What exactly are these books? |

Probably the trilogy of modules that tie in with the trilogy of novels. :) Both the novels and the modules have the same names. I.e Shadowdale novel and Shadowdale module, repeat the titles for the other two modules/novels. |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I think I may have asked this a long time ago, but unfortunately I can't remember what page of this thread it's on :)
Can anyone tell me if the Rogues series of books is any good (and are they meant to be read in order or standalone titles?)
Thanks |

That scroll was only a couple of weeks ago.
The main opinion was The Black Bouquet is one of the best books

Each book in each class series (Fighters, Rogues, etc) is a stand-alone novel. |

Great thanks for that, will order a few of them (along with the WotSQ gift sets). Also I'm thinking of picking up some more books from Amazon, taking advantage of free postage, though can't seem to get a copy of Masquerades or Tymoras Luck.
I got a little bored with the Return of the Archwizards trilogy and only read the first book. Will I need to finish it before I read Shadowbred or are the two books not related?
Cheers |

Dear fellow scibes!
I would like to hear your commands, any commands, on 'the Parched sea' (The Harpers book 1). Is it worth buying?
Same goes for 'Realms of Magic' btw! |

I've not read the Parched Sea in ages, but I really enjoyed it, back in the day.
Realms of Magic has some great short stories, including, IIRC, one with Tertius Wands and Ampi (minor characters from the comics). |

If you can still find it around, get it. Additionally, it is a fairly good novel. the first Ruha (sp?) book. |

I enjoyed Parched Sea, mostly because it took place in Anauroch and thus provided us with a story about a region we hadn't head much about at the time.

A definite favorite for me -- especially because of the Szass Tam story... Red Ambition.

My question is, what have I missed?
Probably not much, but I want to be sure. The last two FR novels I read were Blackstaff and Darkvision. Which were both very good. What novels have come out since then? |
And if the PCs DO win their ways through all the liches to Larloch, “he” will almost certainly be just another lich (loaded with explosive spells) set up as a decoy, with dozens of hidden liches waiting to pounce on any surviving PCs who ‘celebrate’ after they take Larloch down. As the REAL Larloch watches (magical scrying) from afar. Myself, as DM, I’d be wondering: “Such a glorious game, so many opportunities laid out before your PCs to devote your time to, and THIS fixation is the best you can come up with? Are you SURE you’re adventurers?” -Ed Greenwood

1365, according to O Love's Novels Timeline.
Thank you, Wooly, that's a very helpful aid.
