For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Anyone know where Wolfwatch Manor, Stormhawk keep and The Court of the High Tower (Sounds like it might be an Elven location) are? |

Why?
According to WOTC Australia it will be out here on the 14th of March and remember Sage the 14th starts in Australia well before it starts in North America |

Dargoth, dear, I’m visiting Ed right now, so I snuck a peak at his copies of POWER and am able to report that:
Wolfwatch Manor (p95) is one of the “Ghost Holds” of Battledale. It bears a striking resemblance to Castle Krag in Shadowdale (NOT to be confused with “Castle Crag” in Cormyr); must have been raised by the same builder.
Stormhawk Keep (p97) is the center of the village of Stormhawk, northwest of Proskur. IT looks similar to Ed’s original “Castle Crag” in Cormyr, and presumably shares a builder with THAT fortress.
“The Court of the High Tower” is the name of the section of text detailing the courtiers; the map accompanying it is The High Tower of Iriaebor (p23)
I can also tell you that Ed drew all the originals of these three maps, because I found them on his desk. love, THO

No, I know that... But my copy has to be shipped from Sydney to Perth... so it'll be a few days through the mail past the 14th. Either way, Wooly will get it before I do .

Mine's already got a preorder for both from me; I'm not particularly inclined to push. |

Chapter One: Order in the Court 6 Chapter Two: Win the Battlefield 25 Chapter Three: Keep the Faith 44 Chapter Four: Play the Market 62 Chapter Five: Tame the Frontier 84 Chapter Six: King of the Road 101 Chapter Seven: High-Level Challenges 115 Chapter Eight: The Border Kingdoms 131 Chapter Nine: How to Rule 154 - 158
First glance pros (with only thumbing through it):
- A really nice mix of fluff and crunch. - They gave us some new slang terminology (something I really look for in Ed's responses here and in novels). - I really appreciate the fact that the Herald prc is really a modification of the loremaster prc from the DM's guide. We've been inundated with so many prc's that providing a good example of how to tailor an established one to a specific use is fantastic. - Lots of info on how laws are enforced (marshals and heralds specifically)
Cons: - No index (offset by very detailed table of contents) -- this is a book that I can tell will get a lot of use and I'm an index junkie when researching on the fly during a gaming session. Disclaimer, I wouldn't want them to remove 3 pages of content to make room for an index, so very small con. - MORE MORE MORE! |

Oh, as a note, I just bought this off the shelf at Borders Books. There were no unholy pacts or insider pull used to get it.
In fact, I did my good deed for the day due to the fact that it initially rang up at $6.99 and I informed the clerk that there must be some sort of error. She got it straighted out and said she'd make certain the other 8 or so copies on the shelf didn't do the same. |

Also can you tell us about the feats in PoF and is most of the material in the book only useful characters that have taken the Leadership feat?

But looks good from what little I was able to see. Next Tuesday they said is when they'll have some for sale.
Aye, that's what I was told as well and the comic guy said that WOTC has now shifted the release dates to Tuesdays since that is what the rest of the industry uses and so, material will be out on Tuesdays instead of later in the week. |
