Looking for information on Vaasa, all I have found so far is from FRCS which is kind of scant.

The Bloodstone modules from 1e. The Bloodstone Land sourcebook from 2e. Lost Empires of Faerun from 3.5e. |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Expanding on Kuje's answer a bit...
I don't have the Bloodstone modules, but from what I recall, FR9 The Bloodstone Lands offered a good bit of info on Vaasa. I'd look for that one.
(Incidentally, that was the first FR product I bought.) |

Speaking of Vaasa, does anybody else find that using a figure known as 'The Witch King' which used to live in a castle almost identical in shape to barad-dur a little cliche?

It is not exactly canon material, but if you want "a" version of Vaasa, you could do worse than to check out the Northern Journey project website
http://www.vintyri.com/vintyri/njstart.htm
and download the PDF-file "Vaasa and Beyond".
