Hi folks

Just a short note to inform you that we have performed a version upgrade to the forum today. This upgrade will provide extra features to improve navigation throughout the forum and aid you in your topic posting. We have also added extra personal data fields to your member profiles page, including an MSN Messenger contact field so please update you profiles by selecting the "profile" option from the main menu at the top of the page.

If you experience any problems with the upgrage then please email either myself (webmaster@candlekeep.com) or the forum admin (admin@candlekeep.com)

Thanks and we hope you continue to enjoy the forum.

The "Active Members" function is an add-on to the forum which we will be adding within the next few days along with some other addtional features. The main thing was to upgrade the board and ensure nobody had any problems with it.

I will announce the Active Members function on within this topic once it has been implemented.

Enjoy

Ok thats the "Active Users" function back up on the forum. You can find the information on the Statistics panel at the bottom of the main forum page. Clicking the "Active Users" link will direct users to a page showing locations of any members or guests who are using the forum.

If you encounter any problems with this or with the forum upgrade then please contact me.

Thanks

Well only a few minutes of use and i noticed a problem with the Active Users panel. Its nothing serious and still records which users are online. The problem lies with "Guest" recording, still showing guests which have since signed on as a member. Obviously this timesout after a while so isnt too much of a problem but ill try to iron it out over the next few days anyway.

When viewing the Active Users I have occasionally seen the Current Page for some members being blank. How is this possible?

Usually it says Posting Reply To... or Posting New Thread (or something similar but sometimes it simply says Posting New Message without no link to a thread or forum catagory.

I have also noticed guests posting. Is this because is still assumes some people to be guests even when they have signed up?

Hi Echon

The blank entries are when you are not signed in when viewing the Active Users page, blank entries mean that the member is in an area which is not available to guests (i.e. the Candlekeep Inn).

As for the Guests posting topics. This can be done as if you are not signed in and reply or post a topic, there are fields available to enter your member name and password on the form.

Actually, I've seen the non-hyperlinked "Posting Message" myself -- and not only was that when I was logged in, it was before the Inn was even put up, much less opened.
