Ý have a problem about criticals.
Here it is;Ýt is the third edition rule of threatning a critical.
You have a dagger(crit 19-20/*2)and attack bonus +14.You attack a foe who has a AC 35.You rolled a 19.Now what?You cant hit the target
but you threatened a critical?
I allow my players to roll again in this situation to know that is it a crit or not?and wheter they hit or not in the second roll i count them as they hit...
Tell me the exact rule or what you would do in this situation please...

Ehm... first of all, why is this character combatting a foe which he cannot hit? 20+14=34 < AC35??

IMO, the attack on a 19 is a miss, and therefore not a threatening attack for critical hit purposes.

I'm not too familiar with 3rd edition rules but isn't it stated somewhere that if you miss it can't be a threatened critical?

Mumadar, i think it was taken as an example
But i agree with you, it's not a critical threat and not even a hit threat, to put it in a nutshell, it's a miss!
furthermore, he can hit his opponent, a 20 is always a hit

Here is nice 2nd edition rule about criticals. Learn it.

Critical hits occur when a character rolls a natural 18 or higher and hits the target by a margin of 5 or more after all modifiers. If the character scores a critical hit, he inflicts double damage dice, calculated before adjustments for Strength, magic, or special circumstances.
