I have had this question for some time. Who would win if bane and Cyric waged war on each other. It would be a religous war for both gods. All of there followers under there control would try to destroy each other where ever they seen each other.

So I want to hear your opinions on who would win this ultimite battle.

I personally would have to support Bane and say he would win.

Well, from the way things are progressing, I would also say Bane too. In the Zhentarim, in the religious war that's occuring between the two sides, the Banites are gaining the upper hand. Zhentil Keep is already back in Bane's hands and they are almost complete with the eradication of Cyricists in the Citadel of Dark Raven.

If you look at followers of the two gods, just look at the "Champions" of their church. On Bane's side, you have Fzoul Chembryl; the Tyrant of the Moonseas who's a high level cleric. On Cyric's side, you have Malik; the Seraph of Lies who's a cowardly Calimshite merchant....

I've never been a fan of the "who would win" topics. However, am I the only one that wishes there were more religious conflicts detailed in Realms fiction/gaming product? I know there has been some. Yet, I feel that such things as an all out religious war between two deities seem to be avoided by authors/designers.

I'd like to read a novel or see a product that delved into some of the lesser known, but still bitter rivalries/enemies amongst various Realmsian deities/clergy. Midnight vs. Shar, Bane vs. Cyric, and Lloth vs any other member of the Drow pantheon do make for interesting stories...but it might be neat to hear about some other gods too. Like Kossuth, Tempus, or Auril for example, or maybe an update on tensions between Mystra/Midnight and Helm and the applicable tension between their faithful.

Cheers,

Does anybody else get post count envy when they look just a little bit south of The Sage's Avatar? <psst..."Don't stare Kuje, it's unseemly." ;)>

Well met

Aye, i'm with Sirius on this one. I don't like to permit such scrolls here at Candlekeep as they are often quite pointless and add little to the library. Whilst I mentioned some time ago as part of the introduction of polls to Candlekeep that versus polls are not permitted, I will unfortunately have to apply the same for normal scrolls too. Apologies to those involved
