I don't believe there are any, at least none outside of 3e DL.

The closest you'd probably come to is the amethyst dragon in MMII.

There might just be such a conversion in Dragon. In fact, now that you mention it, it does sound familiar. I obviously don't have the relevant issue otherwise I would remember it specifically.

Storm Riders, Black Courser, and Blood Charge have a purple dragon. She's also in my NPC file from those books, which is in my sig in the monsters section of the file.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Elven Songstress, are you refering to the Purple Dragon of Cormyr, Thaul something or other? If so would a vernerable Black Dragon work? The MM would have those states I would think.

Thank you Kuje I have those stats too is that the Cormyrian Purple Dragon.

I don't think a Purple Dragon is a Black Dragon however I could be wrong...

No as the others said. Cormyr's was just a very old black dragon that was so old it was starting to look purple in color. But the three modules I mentioned actually have a purple dragon.

A couple different purple dragons....

1. A generic chromatic type that appeared way way back in a 1E issue of Dragon and I think was later updated to 2E, but I don't think to 3E. Have to check the Dragon Magazine Archive CD-ROM. I think you're referring to this one.

2. The various purple dragons of Cormyr -- the aged black dragon Thaul-something-or-other (brain fart) who looks kinda purple and then the former human king Azoun and the various military forces of Cormyr -- all of which are/were known as "purple dragons," but none of which actually are/were.

3. The unique dragon (name began with a G) from the Hordeland (really takes place south of the Hordelands near Solon) trilogy of modules mentioned above that also happened to be purple in coloration.

To determine stats for "the" Purple Dragon of Cormyr, Thauglorimorgorous (known also as Thauglor, the Black Doom), take a great wyrm black dragon. Consider (if available) using the "advanced dragon" option from page 179 of the Epic Level Handbook to reflect his extreme age and power.

The "purple dragon" of 1E appears in Dragon #65, in the article "The Missing Dragons." They were updated to 2E in Dragon #248.

The Purple Dragon of the eastern Realms, Gaumahavi, is a unique specimen that appears in FRA1, Storm Riders (her stats are reprised in FRA2, Black Courser and FRA3 Blood Charge).
