as the first 2 compendiums i liked this really really much... good work guys. thank you very much all...

"Yes my ravenous friend" he said quietly, "but there remains two problems."

"First, I work alone."

"And second," Entreri continued, without missing a breath, "you are dead."

Well met

Indeed, such feedback is very helpful to us. Not only does it give us an idea if we're doing the right thing, but it also inspires the scribes to continue with their projects when they hear that people are enjoying reading the material. Much like FR authors, I suppose.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated

I, for one, would be curious to see what parts people find useful... Particularly among the adventure hooks!

I, for one, echo this.

And to the posters: Any comments on the laborers would be good as well........

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Speaking for myself, if I was running a campaign, I could easily see myself reaching for some of your laborers. I particularly liked the elven sisters.

Google away, and I'm glad you liked it. What information helped you the most, and what would you have liked to see that was not in there?

to be honest with you, i knew what the thunder blessing was but i never got a complete grasp of what it was...if that makes sence. what i liked most was mainly the explanation of the thunder twins and the arcane users. hmm, something i would like to see that was not there?, i cannot think of anything right off hand. of course you know with me ANYTHING dwarf-lore related is a plus in my book. i will not rest until i know more then anyone about dwarf-lore...a fools dream, yes, but all dreams sould be incouraged

Wow, Alaundo!!!

Dragon themed?!?!?
And with the presence of Richard Lee Byers?

This is, big Al, Richard, fellow scribes (Wooly, Kuje, Gray, Hammer, Krashos, Sage, and all the Compendium staff!!!), the best Christmas gift that I have received until now (well, not counting my last 5 books that I buy in the beggining of the month )!

Thank you!!

Chosen of Moradin, now with a cup of tea to drink and a good tome to read!

I hope you all enjoy this issue guys... we've certainly had some fun putting it all together -- Wooly especially .

We'd especially like to hear what you think about each of the articles included in the issue. It means a lot for us to have feedback as it helps us to determine how we can better refine our works to give our fellow scribes maximum enjoyment.

Let's hear from you... .

Well i'm certainly glad to hear that, Chosen of Moradin, and I hope ye find it a very good accompaniment to thy cup of tea

Indeed, as the Sage stated, please provide any feedback on this tome, as it helps us steer future volumes in the right direction (and also gives the scribes a little boost to work all the more ).

Let us know how ye liked the dragon theme also. Every article was dragon-related in some way. This choice was partly due to the current Realms-shattering event as penned by Richard Lee Byers, partly due to it being WotC's "year of the dragon" and partly as it makes up the namesake of the game we all play...but most of all, 'cos we all just love dragons

I've also dropped a note over at WotC about this particular issue Big Al... drawing attention to it's Year of Rogue Dragons/Dragons content especially.

Well met

As part of todays site update, Volume V of the Candlekeep Compendium has been released!

I hope ye all enjoy this latest collection of Realmslore, for there are a wonderful and varied array of articles within and the scribes involved have worked extra hard to get this one out in time for the quarterly release.

So, please feast thine eyes upon this tome, and we appreciate any feedback on the articles and suggestions for future volumes.

Thank ye

As I just have returned to these halls, one of my first actions was read the new tome of the Compendium, because to me, the material presented in this excelent sourcebooks are so indispensable as any oficial book.

That said, I will let here my impressions, article by article:

The HammerŽs Stroke, by Kevin Liss

Again, my northen cousin have proven to be the resourceful and creative person to aks about dwarven matters. The simplicity of this article, allied with the vivid scenes and chambers that he have described in the article gain my imagination with much more easy and speed that I really are waiting... Hail to you, Hammer! And keep the scrolls coming!

Laborers of Toril, by Scott Kujawa

That is really a great article. The broad range of npcs that the author give to us are always interesting. In this article, I stay more interested in Trelrene, Elvaery and Lharyt, Perann Mhenter and Katsiko - all can appear in my Silver Marches or my Unapprocheable Eaast campaigns.

My thanks.

I try to do a range of NPC's to give people different one's that they may use or get ideas from. I tried something different for the new issue and I hope it goes over well...

But hardly anyone has given me feed back on any of these and I've done 5 articles for them now. So, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Oh, youŽre welcome!

I pretend to change Peran to Telflamm or Two Stars, put Katsiko near Rashemen in the Golden Way, and put Elvaery and Lharyt in Uthmere. . Since you have mentioned, IŽll re-read the other Laborers of Toril article, and scribe here my impressions, what I like and what I dislike.

Oh, and on a side note -> what wonderful staff!!! IŽll use it in one my campaign, of course.

Folk of Faerûn: Portia Coldspring, by Jaap-Peter Hazelhoff & Carey Sauerbrun.

I have little to say about Portia. She is a very well developed character. This resume all that I could talk. I like of the character, his personality, and his background. And have some Velsharoonites in a temple of Kelemvor will give to bards a good tale to told in every thorp and farm of the Western Heartlands!

I didn't create the staff, I just created the NPC around the staff. :)

And I look forward to hearing what you have to say about the others.

Untold Stories, by Chris Jameson and Scott Kujawa

Well, well...
Some good plot hooks! I, as a busy DM, stay very happy every time that I found so good sources of devious plots! So, thank you, Kuje and Wooly.

But now, to the hooks: I find the I, II, IV and VII the better of this article (and all of them easyly adaptable to my Unapprocheable East campaign - specially the II: change Ilmater for Tyr, Damara/Impiltur for Uthmere/Narfell, and Palir of Damara for Blostin Marsk, and voilá! Something to entertain my players for two or three game sessions!). And other good thing with this hooks, IMO, is to make then something that the players hear in a tavern, if the hook is something that canot be used in the campaign. I found very interesting tha my players, after a good meal in a tavern, hear strange tales about the sirine in the coast of Aglarond... and some tendays after this, some merchant from Velprintalar tells how he was inquired for a strange group of elves about the sirine of Aglarond...

Dwarf, DM, husband, and proud of this! :P

Aye, that they can be. :)

We dwarves are simple folk.

Thanks Chosen one! Anything you might have wanted added, or wanted more of? There is so little written on dwarves, sometimes I just don't know what I want to write. Little suggestions here, or questions there will sometimes prompt a whole article.

This is the kind of feedback we like. Others feel free to comment, either positive or negative.
