"Even before he first walked the world as a mortal, Cyric had the will to resist the random call of Fate and make his own fortune. As his newborn soul stood before the goddesses, he cast a light upon Tymora's silver coin, blinding them to his presence. The deities never saw the coin fall, never settled their wager on Cyric's destiny. Thus was he born into the world without any fate save the one he himself could forge." -- from the Cyrinishad |

No question here. Jarlaxle and Artemis are *the* greatest combo in the Realms. |

This will probably come as no surprise to many here who occassionally pay attention to me (fools, all of them ), but I'll have to go with Arilyn and Danilo. |
Life is either daring adventure or nothing. |

Yes, probably. I'll mention a duo not even on the list--Storm and Elminster.

I'm surprised Drizzt and his pretty kitty cat aren't getting a mass of votes. |

I hadn't thought of that combination... But even if I had, I'd still have voted Jarlaxle and Entreri. Guenhwyvar, although obviously more intelligent than the average panther, just isn't enough developed as a character (not that this is a strike against Salvatore). |

I'll rephrase the question---
What is your favorite pair of character that you enjoy reading about when they get together?
here are my top 5:
1. The Bouldershoulders 2. Pavel and Will 3. Torm and Rathan 4. Jarlaxle and Artemis 5. Tycho and Li |

I'm surprised too. ;)
I have to agree that the Danilo / Elaith combo was awesome. |

Yeah, Danilo needs to host a gathering for Elaith one day in Waterdeep using a forum similar to the one on Bravo with James Lipton.
"Welcome to Inside the Tel'Quessir of Faerun. Tonight's guest is one of the most infamous elves ever to come out of Evermeet..."
Yeah, I'm sure Elaith would love for Danilo to set up something like that. |

I always thought Danilo had a way of getting under Elaith's skin.
I agree with George that El and the Srinshee had an interesting and nuanced relationship, as well. |

Danilo and Arilyn Danilo and Elaith I even enjoyed a short story in a early Dragon with Elaith and Arilyn though they are such an unlikely pair.
I enjoyed reading about Zoar and Amaruil in Evermeet, that have to be on my list as well.

That was my vote for Ivan and Pikel Bouldershoulder. Ivan's always yelling that when Pikel gets into some deadly trouble. I'd also like to note that I don't know most of the people on this list and I hate the few I do know. |
I'm always the Wizard! |

for me well I guess I will have to pick one set not on the list.
Itharr and Belkram
They tie with Torm and Rathan
They are followed closely by Liriel and Xorsh, er forgive me if I messed those names up. elven names have never been my strong suit.

Xzorsh I think is the correct spelling. But, regardless, wonderful choice. |

Drizzt and Gwenhyvvar, I say. Drizzt has the Hunter personality in him and coupled with Gwenhyvvar. They are a formidable pair. |
