Well hopefully it is something non-realms and you can share something, sometime in the near future. I am looking forward seeing you work without the FR and flex your creative muscles even more.

P.S. Since I didn't get a manuscript to proofread, I will just hae to keep guessing

Are you trying to tell us that there is a polar bear, smoke powder weapons and something that sounds like airplane engines in downshadow?

One of my daughters first words(she is now 12) was shouting PIKA PIKA!!! at the top of her 1 year old lungs.

But I have to say that your Pika-shoon will get his butt handed to him by Ling-Ling-Shoon!

That's the second time (to my counting) you did that.

Oh noes! He's going to reveal my novel's main villain . . . the dreaded Halashoon, illicit love child of the mad archmage and the Manshoon clone hidden in Undermountain, conceived by polymorph magic, bred to destroy!

This looks like a job for . . . Captain Blackstaff! (By our powers combined . . .)

*Ahem.*

Ok, the silliness might have progressed a bit farther than I had originally intended. My fault entirely.

Let's leave it there before we get really ridiculous and get back to at least *pretending* to be serious.

Downshadow must needs remain a mystery 'ere April 2009. But fun will be had by all. If you've enjoyed my writing thus far, I hope you'll like this one too.

It's more similar to Ghostwalker than Depths, I think, though with a healthy dose of "Greater Treasure," too. It is, I think, better than all three (in the "Erik-becomes-a-better-writer-by-experience" sense), but I'll let you be the judge.

Cheers

Don't worry friend, Erik will tease, poke, prod and obfuscate, but he will never spoil a book before it's time!!

P.S. But, he will let us think that he has given somrthing away from time to time!

Erik, that sounds very much like my theory about the remnants of the now dead Halaster merging with the Manshoon clone and forming a third and separate entity. Good stuff!

No, no... just think of Blackstaff as Batman. Then all we have to do, is organise the Realms version of the Justice League of Faerūn.

I'm glad you took a gamble on these 4e FR books, and I'm glad they worked out for you. I read them both myself and enjoyed them *immensely*.

Well, Downshadow's already written and in the editing process, so nothing to be done about it now. Here's hoping it honors the other two!

One thing I rather like about the series is that the *tone* of these novels varies greatly, giving you a different perspective (each of which is quite enjoyable) on a city that is so classically huge and filled with a thousand tales.

Cheers
