in Faeruns timeline there is this information:

"Gilgeam kills Tiamat. Tiamat's deific essence is split into three pieces, one of which inhabits the red dragon Tchazzar"

2 questions:

-Does anyone know who has the other 2 pieces?
-in my game i want to put one of these pieces into one of my players, but s/he won't know it of course soooo....
would it be absurd or is it a good idea?

I thought it was the other way around... It's Tiamat that kills Gilgeam.

Well to answer both of your questions this is the case:

When Tiamat was destroyed during ToT, or so Gilgeam thought, her essence split up between three great wyrms. The mightiest one - Tchazzar - was convinced that by killing (and devouring) the other two it would become the new god of evil dragons. This was a fake, however, because as soon as all Tiamat's former essence was brought back together she simply consumed Tchazzar and was reborn anew. She waited until the end of the gods war and when Gilgeam was weakened enough she made her move with her new avatar and both was seemingly destroyed in the following battle. But as Gilgeam was destroyed. Tiamat was not and thus she prepared to race through the planes to seize the vacuum left by Gilgeam's death and take Unther as her prize. But before that could occur a party of adventueres (sent by Bahamut) attacked her in her lair in the outer planes and killed her remaining avatar. Thus instead the Mulhorandi and Faerūnian deities took over the space left by Gilgeam.

Hope that clears some things up

thanks a lot!

eueh... what about the Klauth guy??
i think he is an effective dragon(the oldest of all?)

i think he doesn't have ambitions for being a god himself, or does he?

Describes Klauth, who perhaps would like to be a deity, though right now sages consider that old age is one of the possible demises of this dragon.

"He's also widely (and Elminster says, correctly) believed to hunt for and devour the eggs and hatchlings of all sorts of dragons -- except for red dragon eggs, which Klauth uses in a secret magical process to increase his size, health, and vigor. He seems an accomplished master in the art of tricking dragons out of their lairs (leaving offspring or eggs unguarded) so he can slip in and snatch away what he seeks."

I wonder wonder would happen say a hundred years after Klauth's untimely (or timely) demise. The population explosion of Red's would be something to be seen.
