I'm dealing with that also. I haven't seen any signs claiming it's being tweaked, which is the usual reason it can't be accessed, so we'll just have to wait it out. |

Yup, and it started last night. There's a thread over on ENWorld's message boards as well and WOTC is working on it but since it's the wkend it might not be up till morrow. :) |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Like that is a problem, considering what in general I have seen and seen posted about those forums? |

Well, the WotC boards can get emotional, but I find them often more energetic than our own. There, a post gets many opinions and viewpoints, while here it's not too common to get more than one or two interested posters. Obviously, for all things FR Candlekeep is the place to be, but for rule-type queries and all homebrew, WotC has a lot to offer. |

But soon, World of D&D will outstrip them! It might take a year . . . or two . . . or ten . . . . um . . . Fooey.
I wonder if Strahd might be able to bribe Shadowfoot into moving to Worlds of D&D. (After all, that guy's the only reason I ever went to the WotC boards on my own initiative.) |

I just was able to connect and view the FR board. Thus, perhaps the "problems" are resolved. |

I'd second such a move. I've been a Shadowfoot fan since the first incarnation of the WotC message boards.
Of course, his work was always one of the reasons I visited regularly over there as well. As well as Shadowfoot, there were also a few other posters who always seemed to provide a moderate frequency of highly informative posts... or were simply a fountain of good ideas. But now unfortunately, they seem to have just disappeared altogether.

There was a couple of other posters there that I held in high regard, particularly one who had some creative ideas, but posted infrequently... Unfortunately, that person is the only one whose name I remember! |

Perhaps the same people who closed the Novels board got to them.
Any chance of contacting them directly and suggesting a move to a quieter forum where trolls are met with flame (double meaning intended)?

Well, you should have no problem telling us, then. |

I had the same idea after posting that reply above. I'm sure I've got some of their email address here somewhere, as I would sometimes have the opportunity to talk to them privately over MSN IM as well. I'll have to check.

Hey... we use acid here . We can't have any open flames in use around here with all these scrolls .
