Effectively 3E, but with elements of 3.5 and also of 2E as well I suppose. I like to think of it as 3.2E or something along those lines. |

And just when I think I have heard of everything, I get 3.2E. But, I like that. |

I play DnDME. No, not Millenium Edition, My Edition. With rules and components robbed from a hundred sources, it is perhaps closest to 3.5, and uses that as a base before the ME template is applied, and would closely resemble that edition to the casual observer. |

I think everyone has their own version of the rules they use, even if it is just minor changes. Looking at it, though, everything comes down to v.3.5 rules for me. |

I chose AD&D 2e. To be honest though mine system is more of an amalgam of rules. I use some from all the editions and also rules from the upcoming Castles and Crusades which is the perfect system to bridge the gap so I can use what I think is the best from all the editions.
To be honest though I preferred the pre 3e editions. |

3.25E is just so passé. And it's closer to 3E anyway. |

I find this poll to be somewhat misleading and/or misguided, for two reasons: first, there are plenty of people that play multiple editions of D&D; second, there are a number of scribes that frequent Candlekeep that, but for their love of the Realms, would have nothing to do with D&D at all, and don't actually play the game in the first place. |

When I play, which isn't that often any more, it's with the 3rd Edition rules but with a few modifications borrowed from 3.5 and 2nd Edition. |

I cannot accurately nor completely place my vote for this poll. This is mainly because most of my current campaigns, while using the standard 3e ruleset, also combine a variety of rules and formats taken from d20 Modern, d20 Future, GURPS, and the SW d20 system. I also have a blending of rules taken from my own interpretation of the sphere grid advancement system which was "lifted" from Final Fantasy X.
As well as these formats, I've also incorporated a number of homebrew rulings which either supercede, or completely replace existing 3e rules.

Then there are those who have converted the Realms to an entirely different system... |

Aragorn II,
You seem to have forgotten Hackmaster.
That is the form of D and D that my group and I play.
It’s just an improved version of the 2E players option version.
Many people think that it is just a joke game and cannot be played without
Whoopi cushion type humor. In reality, the system takes great lengths in
Order to provide realism. It is a good choice for those of you who like 2E, but
Do not wish to perches a million and one 3E books.
They are even supposed to come out with a version of Forgotten Realms called
Fading Realms. I like the system because there is no conversion of states , you just add
20 HP to the monsters and you can run 2E dungeons as is.

Sorry all but I have to strongly disagree with the above. I have found hackmaster nothing more than a mockery of the pre-2000 editions of D&D.
If you go hereyou'll find a game that preserves the spirit and traditions of the original D&D editions but is compatable with all of the editions of the game. Trust me it's the better decision. |
