Well, here I am. A newbie to Candlekeep! I was lured here by the wonderful words of Kuje, who has painted this community as one far more respectable than that of a... Certain other forum site.

So... Hi!

Well met GothicDan!

Perhaps you know me better as .... SammasterT ... from "that other list".

YAY! I corrupted two of them now, muh hahaha!

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... So... Hi!

Greetings to you GothicDan, and welcome to the halls of all knowledge that we like to call Candlekeep .

Judging from your signature, I can see you're an avid PS devotee. This is welcome music to my hair-encrusted ears (). We hope you have many a curious issue to debate about the Realms planar structure here at Candlekeep.

I also see that you've quoted a line from one of my all-time favorite movies as a child... Again, you score another point in my "Book of Interests: An always expanding record which pertains to the many and varied interests of Scribes here at Candlekeep".

See you around the library...

Hi again, I'm the other "Kuje Newbie(c)(tm)" here, thanks again. I can't believe I've missed out on this site for so long. All this time I've been under the impression that there was only one place to go for FR chatting... I'm glad that's not the case! (Are we allowed to discuss FR novels over here? )

Hells yes we are allowed to discuss novels here. :)

And Sirius, ain't that the truth, my senile friend.

Not only can you discuss novels over here, but the authors will often times discuss them with you!

That was a surprisingly hearty reception. I love this place already!

Beowulf/Sammaster: Woah! It's that dude I think rocks! :D

Kuje: You've got me. Insidious, you are, like a 'loth!

The Sage: Heh, FR cosmology... ;) On another note, Transformers rocks. I'm getting a 2' tall Unicron this Christmas...

Sirius: He should, shouldn't he? :)

Nekrolog: Hi, other newbie!

hammer of Moradin: While I haven't read many FR books, I think Kuje is starting to turn me on to more of them - at least Ed's. :)

Alaundo: Thank you!

And thanks everyone for the hello's and such. Now, it's off to start perusing things...

Welcome to Candlekeep, Gothic Dan and nekrolog!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

I myself am a refugee from those other forums -- when I was wrongly banned from there, I decided to check out this other site Kuje31 had been talking about... The rest, as they say, is history.

Lady: *Blinks, is hugged* Wow. Guess I'm not the only person with ADHD around here...

Ryss: Hi! *Wave*

Wooly: If you're a friend of Kuje's, I'm sure the banning was entirely unlawful. Time to call in the Justicars of Tyr to hear of this, I say!

Aleta: I have a handy dandy Wand of Ogre Blowing Up here! It'll all be fine.

Talwyn, Valdar: Hi to you guys, too!

Silvfana: *Sees signature* I'm listening to Nightwish now! They rock!

Just a follow-up question on your devotion to the great setting of PS... Tell me, have you looked into Monte's Beyond Countless Doorways? I'd be interested to hear what you think, if you have. Although, I suggest you send me a private message (lest we evoke the great wrath of Alaundo and his mighty Staff of the Irritated Moderator +10), or better yet, take the discussion over to the PS board at Worlds...

+5 you say... Hmmm... Edain must have taken the +10 variant with him when he disappeared through that portal a few tendays ago.

I'm fairly certain he was the first to suggest the "upgrade"...

Staff of the Irritated Moderator +10? I fear that a wee wizard like me would be broken with such a thing. *Tremble*

The Sage: Although I do not personally have the setting, I have heard some very, very good things about it, from some very (I suppose that -is- the most-used adverb in the English language) diehard and creative Planescape fans. I'm looking into getting it as soon as I can collect the necessary funds. :)

I hope that wasn't too much to incur the wrath of Alaundo? *Shifty eyes*

Nightwish is a finnish band. They play heavy and have made five albums since 1998.

Don't worry, I don't think too many there other side of the ocean have heard about them yet.

It's great though, they're taking forth the great civilisation of finnish music!
