If size is a problem, we've got a new one out (which I alluded to in my opening post here). We've two versions, small (8.9 MB) and large (20.6 MB). Both, like the Star Wars movie, require Real Media.

This movie would be a good example of the filming quality we have available as well as the sort of wacky humor we aspire to. Any film we did with a Forgotten Realms subject would have that sort of quality (or so I hope -- this one was excellent) and unless it were supposed to be serious, would have that sort of wackiness to it.

Hint: our filmer loves wackiness, so we mostly have wackiness.

I've not yet d/l'ed the Star Wars one (can you say, "dial-up draws vacuum?" I knew you could! ), but I did this night download the Alibabababad one. Well done! Anyone who does something like that with Legos is alright by me.

I think I shall try d/l'ing the Star Wars one sometime this weekend.

You know, I was promised some ideas and never got them.

I don't know how long it would take to make a movie in the first place, but if I don't have any jokes about the more prominent Candlekeep members, I can't even start a script.

On the other hand, I could make an "About the Forgotten Realms" movie, but it might be hard to fill it with our trademark silliness. Maybe an "About D&D" one would be easier . . . .

My goodness!

Bookwyrm, you've pulled this hoary old chestnut out of the fire!
To be quite frank the idea of a Candlekeep movie is a great one but what with WoTC owning copywite to most of the stuff, it's largely a moot point but still I enjoy the odd writing exercise.

For a script, I'd humbly suggest going through the Inn boards and pulling out the more exciting story lines there for want of a better idea. Also all it'd take is some judicioius editting and there's a half-way decent script ready to go.
just a thought

I don't think this has anything to do with copyright -- as has already been stated. The only other way I can state it is that this would be an animated fanfic. When I suggested it, there was a lot of support for the idea, but so far I only have one suggestion I could use: yours. (PDK sort of made a suggestion, but since I never saw the show he refers to, it's not much help to me.)

Of course, I pretty much ignore the Inn, as it got too chaotic for me. Do you think you could point me to some good threads?

Bookwyrm, Hamlet's grasp of english is a bit (and this is being nice ) odd at times and thus her idea of a warning (lethal) was for all the best intentions but obviously not the correct one.
I haven't viewed the site so I don't know if it does lead to "adult" areas but you say that it does?

Did you not get my sugguestions? I know they weren't very specific but I thought they would be helpful fleshing out some of the characters if not the plot or specific scenes.

I did, and I replied, remember? The only thing was, I couldn't use most of it. I did file it away, though, in case the dynamic of the movie as it is now changes. (Not that there's much dynamic in it at the moment . . . .)

(Heavy Scottish-Ilythiiri accent)
Rivvin, wha' do z'ey know of ay "le'thal sight" ...
(a rustle announces a piece of paper on the Candlekeep noteboard being deprived from it's lower right edge)
(sound of heavy ol' boots tattering back to the Inn and to bed and obviously not being kicked out before their owner plunges under the blanket)
(after a while, a red eye peeks from there)
Und if still curious, lookup my webpage at deviantart.
(*yawn!*)
Und z'ee, Paladin Talwyn, I bestow z'ee curs'ee of ... eh, wha' ... z'ee curs'ee of Card'nal Deimozz running berzerk at z'ee little camp, drool hangin' fr'm his mouth.
(then Darkness falls, as usual.)

As for the 1-minute-darkness-and-screams movie idea: well, I myself have been torturing the Macrom.Flash and in a week something eerie may come out. Abandon all great expectations, however

My dear Bookwyrm, this sounds wonderful, I hope fellow scribes herein will contribute with a good few ideas and aid you with this project.

Somebody remove the tomes from Bookwyrms desk, he now has other chores to undertake

Well, it's been a while, but news is finally in about this project.

It's not going to happen.

The reason is that one member, our best voice actor, has a mother who dislikes D&D. Jon (in charge of fliming) is concerned that doing anything to do with D&D or the Realms would upset her, and we can't just exclude Billy. She's already uncomfortable with the fact that, last time she and I spoke, I was getting into D&D. I'm now very into D&D, as we all know, so Jon thinks it's too dangerous to try.

Personally, I want to walk up to her and just start debating. I'm not a good debator, but there are two topics I feel I can win on: abortion and D&D. Billy's mother is pretty persuasive, but facts and logic are on my side here. But Jon really doesn't want me to do that. He knows I wouldn't lose, but he's afraid I'll just antagonize her.

So now you know both the long and the short of it. Sorry, folks.

Well i'm very sorry to hear of this news, Bookwyrm. It did indeed sound very interesting, based too on what I have seen by your previous project (the Star Wars brickfilm).
