I figure this could go here, but if not I have no qualms about it being moved.

I'm about to run a game where one of the players is LN Githyanki Monk. I was just wondering if there is any difference in how the Githyanki opperate in the Realms form the standard MM descriptions. I am also looking for a location to star him in. Any Githyanki city would do.

Since no one has seemed to comment, I will give my two cents.

The Gith have no real city on FR that I am aware of, though they do create small bases to serve for a limited time with each incursion. Given the fact he is LN, I would probably go with the idea he was raised at a remote monastery after being found by an adventuring company trying to halt one such incursion. The then child was not seen as part of the incursion but more a helpless victim and one of the members of the company (Who was also a monk from the same monastery) brought him there since he had no where else to go. If you are going for more of a Gith feel, he would need to be coming from the Astral plane in my opinion. Check out Dungion issue #100 and the dragon that came out that same month I believe.

I have a few points of my own to add, but it hardly seems relevant now... If you have any further difficulties with the githyanki in FR, let me know...

The topic is over before I can contribute! I'll contribute anyway.

Gatchorof is a semi-permanent Githyanki outpost city in the Underdark, protected by three red dragons (Underdark).

The only good githyanki is a dead githyanki as far as I'm concerned!

Hex them till they glow, then curse them in the dark!

Over the centuries, mankind has tried many ways of combating the forces of evil...prayer, fasting, good works and so on.
Up until Doom, no one seemed to have thought about the double-barrel shotgun.

Also check out the write-up of Torglor in "drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark", p.86 - it details a githyanki outpost opposed to the fearsome illithid city of Oryndoll.
