Well Met and Welcome back King-Tiax! Its been a long time
Personally I think the posts on this forum are very interesting lately, its also nice to see a few FR novelists appear on the boards too to comment on their novels. As you have no doubt noticed, the forum has grown considerably since you last posted anything here and we now have many more members, a lot of which have a lot of Realmslore and knowledge to share.
I hope that your comeback is well behaved The Great Drizzt is doing really well here lately, so you just behave yourself, d'ya hear, else its back into that cupboard blowing dust off the Tome of Everlasting Dustiness |

Finally the great king-tiax I've heard so much about. It is an honour and a privilage to finally speak with you. I have been looking back at some of your posts and I admire your experience and obviously highly extensive knowledge of the Forgotten Realms.

Welcome back, Tiax! I have to say the forums have been rather boring without you, but I'm sure you'll see that the forums have grown quite a bit during your absence(although there are a lot of pathetic threads.) Once again, welcome back! |

im curious what you guys consider pathetic threads...ive all but stopped going to WOTC FR board in favor of this one. i find it much more mature and informational.
but having browsed most of your "flairish" threads, i think i know why.
im sure you will scare the Authors away as some people did on the WOTC FR board |

Well said ArcticKnight! I think the topics have been really informative over the past month or so. And as Alaundo said above, its good to see WotC authors on the forum too
Are the WotC FR boards really that bad? I very rarely visit them, maybe only once in a month or two. |

I have made one attempt to visit the WotC boards, and was discouraged by the apparent lack of structure. It seemed to me like a big jumble of threads with no order. I have seen some much better organized forums, of which Candlekeep is one.
I have to agree with our Polar Warrior and Rad in that this forum has very informative content, balanced with a bit of good natured banter. IMO the moderators are doing a good job and are not too tight or strict.
Indeed if King Tiax and drummerboy would be able to point out these so called pathetic threads, I'm curious as well as to which ones you are referring. (and beyond Arctic Knight, Rad and me, there will probably be more)

I would point out what pathetic threads I previously mentioned, but I don't wish to offend anyone who has written one of those pathetic threads. |

Well, if you can provide a good justified argument why the thread in your opinion is not up to the standard you would expect (let's forget the word pathetic - that might indeed result in insults), then I'm sure the author(s) of those threads will be willing to listen to constructive critique. I for one am always interested in what others think of my submissions, provided the critique is not an empty comment, but contains some argumentation. |

After browsing through the General Forgotten Realms Chat Sub-Forum, I found the following threads that I though were unnecessary:
it's nice to seen... wot's wif dis is there some kind of ghost around here...
The reason I feel these threads are unnecessary was because they don't seem to have a realms-related purpose. I guess the "wot's wif dis" thread is appropriate for the forums but should at least be put in a more appropriate place such as the Site Content subforum. The "it's nice to seen" thread seems to be a mere thought and the "is there some kind of ghost around here" doesn't really seem to be a topic appropriate for discussion. I hope these reasons are sufficient to explain why I think some threads are unnecessary. |

I agree with you there drummerboy. The 'Wots wif dis' thread seemed like a genuine queary but the other two were just, if you pardon the expression, bollocks. They were both by the same person whom I told not a post such pathetic threads and she's stopped doing it now.

Well Met
Indeed, the topics in question are not beneficial to the forum. I still have a huge pile of scrolls here to work through in an attempt to clear up the forums a bit and weed out some of the pointless posts.
The member who posted the "wots wiv dis" topic has since been removed from the forum, as have all their other posts. Constant irrelevant posting and abuse will result in suspension of your account, once reinstated there is a trial period, further offenses will cause the account to be terminated, which is what happened in that case. The topic was left as an example and as an explanation as to why some member post counts had decreased.
As I mentioned earlier (in another post), there will be a cleanup of the forums so please dont be offended if your post count drops by a couple of posts (in a few cases).

Yeah I think he's buggered off once more.
I am amazed that just by starting this simple thread he has caused so much controversy. He really has a talent for it.

It's good to have you back with us, king-tiax. I've read through some of your other comments and they tend to be quite intersting. And yes, you do have quite the nack for starting up a very active thread. You favorite race thread is still one of the hot topics. |
