I've been away from Toril for a long while visiting Other planes. And when I return to visit one of my favorite towns to find it is a smoking hole in the ground with a bunch of confused mages wandering around trying to determine what happened! There not talking, and I want an explanation.

Mod Edit: Moved to the correct shelf.

Try this thread. It should help.

Mod Edit: Fixed the URL.

Not so much fixed, as redirected. When Big Al upgraded the forums recently, most of those older URLs point to the older addresses for each scroll.

'Tis correct anyways.

-- And I'm not really sure what this is doing in the Welcome section of Candlekeep. I'll move it to General.

Probably cause it was from 2004 and Alaundo was the only moderator at that time since he didn't make new mods till 2005ish. :) And so, he missed it or never moved it.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Aye, I know.

It just struck me as odd that it was posted in the "Welcome" shelf, especially when it doesn't exactly read like a "Welcome" post. The OP likely wasn't that set on where such posts should go, at the time of posting...

that should be pretty easy by running a "cleanse-rewrite-repeat" check on the server changing every 'candlekeep.com/forum/' to 'forum.candlekeep.com/' ... judging from my knowlegde that shouldn't be to hard if you have the abilities to get behind the forum (in terms of server or prehaps just admin access)

what happened to the queen? she's much more hysterical than usual
