Its here at last, the interview by Candlekeep with Paul S Kemp, author of the second book of the Sembia Series - Shadows Witness and the upcoming Erevis Cale Trilogy! You can read this interview HERE!
I'm also around the forums, if anyone has anything they want to ask that did not get asked in the interview.

<walks around looking for Alaundo, mumbling:>
Now where did they install the Guiness tap... Surely that must have been the main reason for Paul to visit Candlekeep... Hmmm, I could do with a couple of pints as well...
Hi Paul,
Well met and welcome to the forum, I hope you will enjoy your stay. It seems Candlekeep is truly living up to its name and attracting even the scribes writing professionally about our favorite world. (especially those with a recent focus on Sembia ) |

*Grins a bit as he keeps an eye out for Alaundo while he lets in a group of Drowess strippers that are bringing along a few kegs* <whispering to himself> Heh heh... they'll never know this is the REAL reason Paul and the other authors come here... <Softly to the strippers> SHh! Be quiet or we'll get caught! now hurry up downstairs into the wine cellar... there's a hidden door down there somewhere you can hide til Paul gets back... |
I am like a superhero, with no powers or motivation. I have gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, please keep me here. People like you are the reason people like me are on medication. |

LowTech,
I'm not a big fan of the D&D alignment system (though I'm a huge fan of the game) -- it's obviously a GIGANTIC oversimplification of the range of human character -- but if I had to, I'd probably fit Cale into the True Neutral, Lawful Neutral slots.
"Lawful Neutral! But he was in a thieves' guild!"
True. But to belong to any organization -- even an illegal one -- that promulgates rules, and to abide by those rules, is arguably reflective of a lawful nature, though it is obviously not lawful in the sense of "abides by the rules of the State." IMO, this goes to the problematic nature of alignment. For it to make sense, you have to be prepared to interpret "Lawful," "Chaotic," "Good" and "Evil" so broadly that they cease to have any identifiably objective meeting. And if we have to do that, what's the point?

Are you sure those aren't priestesses of Eilistraee?
