I’m looking for information on Threetrees in the Tun Marsh in Cormyr. Anyone have any clues? References are fine or actual data would be great.

Do you have any information currently from any sources? I can do a search through the various products I have but I don't want to just provide something you already have. |

I currently have no information on this location. I have looked for it in the FRCS, and other 30 and 3.5 sources; but have had no luck. I'm really not picky on the source I would just like more information on this place.
I saw the location on a map and now my players want to head there. I just would like to know if there is information out there, otherwise I will have to make it up, I just prefer canon stuff. Thanks for the help,

Cant find much over here either, Just some loose stuff, don't know if it's canon though. I suggest you read up on the other villages lying in the Tun Marsh and the area in general and make it up yourself. |

I have some information on Three Trees, but it clearly states the location as a pass between the Trollcrag and Earthspur Mountains -
quote: Troll Mountains: An arm of Earthspur Mountains named for the trolls who once stalked their slopes and valleys, the Troll Mountains extend west along the north bank of the River Vesper to the Sea of Fallen Stars along the north bank of the River Vesper. The major passes here are Three Trees Pass in the east and Viperstongue in the west.
Also, there are some references to the fact that large parties of orcs inhabit the area. Travellers are told to move through the pass with all due haste, and to stop only if necessary.
I'm currently searching for more...

Interesting, it looks, on the maps I've seen at least, that Three Trees is a village of some kind in the Marsh Tun, not a pass...
Anything else?
Oh, and Sage, what source was that from?
Thanks.

[Blows off a small remaining layer of dust from a collection of scrolls titled 'Elminster's Ecologies']
While the scrolls themselves don't mention Threetrees in any detail, the scroll on the Cormyrean Marches has a small map of the Marshes of Tun on which Threetrees is depicted. In the map's legend it desginates Treetrees as a bandit camp.
The Tun Bandits are/were (who use Threetrees as a camp) are alledgedly led by a former purple dragon knight and have connections to the very old black dragon Skurge who counts/counted the swamp as her domain.
I haven't found any newer scrolls that shine a more recent light on this area that technically is part of Cormyr.
(note: I believe the above mentioned 2e product is available as a download from the WotC site) |

That looks almost like the stuff my old DM made up for the place, was before I was in the loop
Hmm, this bandit lord would that be Thaalim Torchtower or another one?

That would indeed be the infamous Torchtower. If he is still there as a bandit or if someone has surplanted him is unclear to me at this time. The current situation in Cormyr doesn't make it easy to receive news from the less civilized places of that Realm. |

It's collated from several sources. Namely -
- WotC FR website "Rand's Travelogue"
- Realms Mailing List
- Online campaign journals

I believe you can also find info on Skurge in Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark in the write-up of Oghrann (environs of Sshamath).
Or I could be losing my marbles ...
Or both. :-)

Great! thanks everyone for the replies. Y'all are truely going to make my gaming group very unhappy
One more question though, reguarding Torchtower. He has a fortress located in the Tun Marsh, and he has the bandit camp Threetrees? also any speculation on the numbers in his band of bandits?
Thanks again y'all,

Hmm, well I have to look through some tomes. But I seem to recall he have spy's and agents all over Cormyr and other areas he plans to expand into. Have to check up on that though. |

Seeker Palmate,
Alas, Master Ibn Huzal is current, even after all of these years, in case future lore seekers arrive.
Best regards,
