. . . because, "I'M BACK!" .

Okay, so not everyone here will understand that peculiar reference, but I would like to think that my return is just as much a surprise as the Cobra Commander's return to Cobra Island .

Well, I have returned from my journey east, to these halls of knowledge that I love. But do not think that it has been a holiday for the old Sage no, I've been a particularly busy little gnome, getting a handle on several projects that have been occupying my time for the past seven months.

So, here I am and, judging from the amount, and pile of Realmslore that now stands like the pillar of Narbondel on my desk . . . I have much to catch up on.

See you around the library . . .

It's good to see you back-there are a few things that could probably use a bit of your help...

I think they're somewhere in there...

Ah, My friend, thou hast been missed! Indeed the short amount of time that our wise gnome hath been gone, the keep itself has nearly fallen to ruin. Soo much changed whilst thou was away. We hope that thee can get caught up

Well met

Ahh, welcome back Sage
Indeed the lore which is awaiting to be addressed by such a Master of Realmslore is piled high. So much in fact that our dwarven smiths have had to reinforce your desk with iron to take the extra weight

::chuckle:: Oh, enough of my waffling, I don't wish to keep you from your duties a moment longer

Ahhh, so that's where you've been Sage. All this time I thought that Alaundo had locked you up in his dungeon basement for some chit chat.

“Darkness beyond twilight, crimson beyond blood that flows! Buried in the flow of time. In thy great name. I pledge myself to darkness. All the fools who stand in our way shall be destroyed…by the power you and I possess! DRAGON SLAVE!!!”

No, no -- if that had happened, the scrolls wouldn't have been piling up like that. They'd be mysteriously disapearing down into the catacombs below, where the spirit wyrm Miirym could guard him day and night.

Poor old Miirym . . . cooped up in a catacomb complex. I know I'd go crazy without any books around.

Yes, I could just see the Bookwyrm as a pair of "spectral jaws", able to dimension door at will...

Heya Sage!

In anycase,
Welcome Back. Enjoy your stay! May you find the knowledge you seek... and corrupt it to full extent.

Life is like a box of chocolates. Once you eat the poisoned one you die.

Cobra Commander came back to the island? Didn't he die like a long time ago?

I don't know what everyone else is saying you were easily replaced with Lady Kazandra while you were gone She did a wonderful job! But still it is good to have you back as well

CC has died and been reborn so many times, that the whole cycle of life and death (as portrayed in the comic) eventually came to have little meaning for me.

Lady Kazandra has done a wonderful job though, keeping up on the Realmslore while I've been away, and I am thankful for her assistance.

Fear not though, she will be back tomorrow, after her last first exam of the testing period.

Thank you Wood Elf, I'm glad I could be of some assistance. I must say that I was a little weary at first, having to relay the words of the Sage. But instead of finding uncertainty, I found acceptance, and even friendship.

Candlekeep truly is a remarkable place.

Yes, I haven't welcomed you back either... Welcome back, Sage.

Alaundo: Turn away before reading further.

It seems we senior scribes are slipping lately... I especially like using Realmslore tomes as a nice seat.

The Chosen of Vhaeraun
"Nature is governed by certain immutable rules. By virtue of claw and fang, the lion will always triumph over the goat.Given time, the pounding of the sea will wear away the stone. And when dark elves mingle with the lighter races, the offspring invariably take after the dark parent. It is all much the same. That which is greater shall prevail. Our numbers increase steadily, both through birth and conquest. The dark elves are the dominant race, so ordained by the gods." Ka'Narlist of the Ilythiiri.
