One of my earlier memories is this huge half-elf community in the hordelands.

another is of course loudwater (my current obsession).

I'm trying to see where there are large half-elf communities in the realms.

I'm also trying to see what makes them different from elves or humans in this aspect.

(Always thought they should be the fantasy equivelent of the metis, but not sure where to start looking).

Thanks in advance. :)

The forests of Aglarond are half-elves - one of the few places where 'half-elf' has become its own sub-race (because they've been half-elves for centuries, and now 'breed true' to a half-elf every time).

I'm sure I'll think of others - I think (IIRC) Semberhome might be one.

In my one CKC article (hosted here at the keep), I created a similar 'half-elf' group just like in Aglarond (although other features became more predominate - the eyes are more elven, but the ears are nearly round like a humans). They reside in the Punjabbi* Islands north of Katashaka and south of Maztica.

*If I ever get an opportunity to rename those islands, they are going to become the 'Punjaffi' instead).

Depends on what you counts as "large" and "half-elf" (majority?.. substantial part?.. just many of them in one place?.. all subraces?), the list could include Dambrath and Silverymoon.
Also, Dambrath was founded by an order of half-elven Loviatar worshippers, so there may be more to it.
