Greetings.
After more than 3 years away from the Realms in any capacity, I decided to rejoin the Realms mailing list and then Ed and others pointed this forum out to me. Thus, here I am.
It's amazing how much I've missed Faerun et al and this site's going to take me weeks to read through and catch up (as I've only ever seen the forum for Ed's Q&A under the novels...). Thus, expect a lot of old threads to get scared up if I find things therein on which I want to comment.
For those whose memories aren't as agile as Eric Boyd's or Ed's, my name's Steven Schend, and I was a TSR/WotC designer and editor for 10 years until 2000. For much of that time, I worked on the Realms (as well as Marvel Super Heroes and every other property save Dark Sun and Planescape). My favorite memories and moments with the Realms are too many to mention here, though my first product is still among my proudest achievments--the Ruins of Undermountain box (and my first time working with Ed).
In any case, I'm sure we'll get to know each other better as I stick around and check out all that's being said among and around these forums. Many kudos go out to Alaundo and whomever else is responsible for this fabulous candlekeep.com site--you do yourselves and the Realms proudly.

Welcome Steven Schend to Candlekeep. I don't know about Faerun , but I have missed your input for the Realms. Thank you for the post on Alustriel's sons and I hope you enjoy your stay. |

Welcome back to the Realms. I trust that your input will be highly respected because of your experience....
In short, Welcome to Candlekeep. |

Yes, welcome (or "vendui'", as you may find the unusually large number of drow here to say). |

Hmmm, yes, I apologize that I may have played no small part in that..... |

Greetings to you again Mr. Schend...and welcome to these halls of near-infinite Realmslore (which can now only increase given the fact of your presence...)...
I certainly hope you do read through the vast scrolls of valuable Realmslore that remain forever held within the library here, because I, and I am sure every other scribe here, would not only appreciate, but value any input or opinion you may have on the Realms-proper.
So please join us, as we attempt to further uncover the magic and majesty of the land of Faerun...

Another celebrity? Well pull up a chair and get worki....I mean have a drink in the inn.
It's great to have even more realmslore masters here, give The Sage some mental stimulation at last.
Anyway, heartfelt greetings, warm smiles and such and good to have you with us
