Most (but not all) maps show a slightly greater distance between Melvaunt and Phlan than Melvaunt and Thentia.
The most recent map of the Moonsea (appearing in Dungeon #170) shows Phlan being fifty miles from Melvaunt but the map doesn't include Thentia (which it should do if Thentia is closer).
Taking all this information into account, I'd say Thentia is roughly 35 miles from Melvaunt.
When life turns it's back on you...sneak attack for extra damage.
