You are not alone my friend.
I still have problems typing and even with speach! This is realy a pain in the A!!

Well unless the boards get bared for dyslectics and foreign speakers (I am both) mistakes will happen. One can not demand more from a writer than that they do their best. I have more than once scratched my head over my own posts when reading them at a later date. |

I agree with Wooly though even though I am really guilty of this. I am so much in a hurry that i dont even read what I write before hand. If its a long post thats one thing but if its just a couple sentences then it looks so bad when there are typos. It's why i go back and edit a good chunk of my posts. |

Yes and no, Alaundo...and well met
Yes, because it is there...and no because what Kalin and I were aiming for is basically something that can represent the banter we have already been "branded" for cuz of derailing scrolls...it's kind of difficult picking up the humor-ball if you cannot do so in a forum. |

I'v noticed lately there are alot of "best [insert class]" or "top 5 [insert subject]"...maybe a new sub-forum in the Forgotten Realms Journals is needed to keep all the "best" scrolls together? |

As could I and that's why we have the "Please don't post the so and so VS. so and so" type of topics in the Code of Conduct. :) |
For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

personally, I'm not fond of "opinion" threads, as they can turn nasty (vs a pure "factual" thread)
but I (as a relative new comer) also think that new comers to the 'keep (or the Realms) may be intimidated by the amount of lore and knowledge here and it is easiest for them to join the scrolls and community with "who do you like the best" scrolls..and then they can feel like they belong and slowly integrate themselves into Candlekeep's halls |

I avoid them, also, with a passion.... with the exception of those actually designed for humor. The Order of the Stick and Enworld forums will have one from time to time that I enjoy reading. One (I can't remember which) has two threads called 101+ Worst Players and 101+ Best players, in which I see myself in a lot of those entries. I guess that makes me neutral; I go both ways.
Anytime I see "Top 5 best spelunkers" or "Drizzt vs the Abominable Snowman" I just skip and continue. |

Agreed.
I've been thinking that perhaps we should expand the entry in the CoC to further reflect this. I'm just not sure how yet...

Could I throw out for consideration this one?
A Trade Meet Thread.
Though I have been told by Sage and Alaundo that FR Genral is ok for sales and I have seen others post there, I always feel guilty of posting a Forsale Post, even after Alaundo's permission was given.
(you may have noticed I just use one scroll and add to it, as I only offer FR / D&D products to help my fellow scribes.)
I feel a set section for everyone to trade or swop there FR/D&D products on would be fair to everyone.

While it may be a good idea... the real problem with such a thread is the fact that so few scribes actually engage in this type of activity. It wouldn't really get much use...
Additionally, it could prompt traders/buyers to register at Candlekeep just to participate in the thread itself or post their own FR products they'd like to sell and then the new scribes disappear.
As it is, I feel we need to maintain a strict control on this type of activity. While a few scribes may find it useful, it will undoubtedly end up being abused by those who have little appreciation for the rest of what Candlekeep has to offer, should such a course as the one you're proposing here... be followed.

Yes youre right. The howle ideer about people signing up, just to sell their stuff, sound bad.
Ill check the net, to see where there are Bords, were you can sell youre stuff.
I have a little question : If i am to recomend candlekeep to otheres on the net, what am i going to tell them ? I am gathering all bords on the net one place, and i am going to create a description of the bords.
Sorry wrong place to post this. |

Hello-
I'm not sure there would be enough usefullness to separate out this into a separate section - but - with the addition of a regular article in Dragon magazine in the works, monthly it seems - possibly a section devoted to discussions of Dragon/Dungeon content might be in order.
Just a thought.

I am collecting the D&D Minis. I would be more than willing to trade with people. You can send me a PM here with your email listed - and I can send you my minis list. Thanks!
Successfully traded with Xysma! |

Agreed. And there are, in fact, a couple of those lists on here. Big Al linked you to one in your most recent thread. |
