I am merely a shadow of Ezindir, he can not send me that far, but Ezindir is not far away from the place you speak of, do not be suprised if his ravens of Eznidir in person soon showes up with the armory... If that is your wish of course.

Shadowlord's image seems to smirk at that. "I know you're a shadow double. However, I also know that whatever is said here is also heard by the real Ezindir. Likewise for myself. So, do you reject my offer?"

Of course the halfbreed wont reject your offer Shadowlord, it's in his nature to serve.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles, then resumes what he was doing before, seemingly whispering into the air but upon closer inspection one can see that Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine has a thin silk thread between his teeth in the bottom half of his mouth. One end of the silk thread in his left hand the other disappearing up in the sky. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles again

Interesting.... Sending your familiars would be most unwise halfbreed...

So, your continue to pester me with your awful atempts at insulting me, do you not think I have heard worse insults before? There was a reason for me parting from you, you know. And point is, I will not send my familiars, they are already in the Underdark, they will merely fecht the armor on theirs way home from the underdark.

Very well, it was only a fair warning fool. Don't come running back crying to me like some avariel who just lost his wings when your familiars die in Chaulssin halfbreed.

Shadowlord, I won't accept that you torture this one. That is my job.
>Narad glances at Gorad who is still pinned to the ground>
But don't think he is loyal to anyone, he is just bound to our deal.
Oh, and don't trust too much to your mind-shield either. My powers are different from those of regular psionicist's. I won't tell you more than that, for I want to keep a couple of tricks up my sleeve.
>Turns to Gorad.>
Now talk! Who hired you?
>Gorad remains silent staring at Narad. An instant later his head starts shaking and he screams loudly.>
I don't have the patience for your games! You know I can do much worse.
Now, who hired you?
>"I can't tell!" Gorad shouts with pain-filled voice.>
Ok, lets play a little game shall we?
>Narad takes Gorad's necklace from his pocket. Before their eyes, the necklace turns into a small stone. Narad tosses the stone to ground where it rolls couple of feet away.>
If you can quess which stone is the necklace, we will let you go. But if your answer is wrong, you'll tell us who hired you.
>Gorad looks them all in wonder and then lifts his head and starts looking for the right stone. There are many stones on the ground, but one looks different from the others. "That one!" Gorad shouts and gestures towards the unique-looking stone. Narad winks to the others.>
Wrong!
>The necklace appears to be the one next to the stone that Gorad chose.>
Now tell us!

If it was a fair warning, you should try to say it a little nicer. Ezindir's ravens becomes visible in the sky, bearing somthing between them, the ravens who were guarding the elf disipears when they sees them. Ahh, what did I say?

Let me elf.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine pushes past Narad

Watch.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine throws one end of the silkstrand towards Gorad whilst whispering a word of power. The thread immediately weaves itself around the Slaad. With a tiny almost unnoticeable tug of the hand the silk digs in deep obviously causing pain to the Slaad

If I tug any more you will die as you a very well aware of Slaad. Now speak!

>Through his pain Gorad merely laughs. "Your puny magics cannot kill me". Then Gorad turns his head back to Narad "You tricked me again bladesinger, but this time you have no spells backing you up."
Narad turns to Cherrn, ignoring Gorad>

As he said, you cannot kill him. Nor would I allowe you to do so. I might need him in the future.
>As Narad talks, Gorad's skin starts to form around the silkstrand. With his eyes narrowing dangerously, Gorad's skin starts rapidly climbing the strang towards Cherrn.
In a split second Narad draws his sword and with his ability as a bladesinger he enchants the blade. A clean sweep and the string is cut just before Gorad would have reached Cherrn>

If he touches you, you're a goner!
>Narad launches a great mental attack against the slaad. Gorad's body trembles in pain. "Okay, okay, I will tell you!" he screams. Narad stops. Gorad takes a couple of deep breaths "I was hired by a bunch of clerics, dedicated to Cyric."
"They told me I would get my powers back! All I had to do was to send some monsters to distract some of the most powerful visitors of Candlekeep." Narad turns to the others>

What do you think?

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles wickedly

Puny magics eh ? Why don't you let me show you how "puny" this kind of magic is?!

In a flash of motion Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine sends out the silk severing Gorad's right arm above the elbow and his left leg just above the knee. The Slaad roars in pain. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine pulls the string gently again delivering the leg in front of Narad and severed arm in his own hand. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine laughs loudly

Hah! My mentor in Kozakura tried to kill me because a "simple" outlander was able to best him and his 20 apprentices in this artform. What makes you think an overgrown frog like you can?

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine throws the severed arm back to the Slaad who, despite the obvious pain it is suffering, still manages to keep itself upright on 1 leg

You get the arm back for free fool!

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles and looks at Narad

Keep the leg as a souvenir.

Shadowlord seems morose when he clarifies his apprentice. "You listen well," he remarks sarcastically. "I desire shadowsilk, not armor. Whatever you find in the armory is your as a gift. I only need the shadowsilk. And Cherrn is right. Your familiar is extraplanar. I forgot that extraplanar creatures are dismissed when they enter House Teken'ghym. Just a precaution I had done. About 2,500 years ago, we had a small problem with demonic assassins, and any extraplanar creature entering the compound is bound to my will. You would find your bird switching loyalties very quickly..." Shadowlord smiles wickedly, then turns to Cherrn. "Interesting rope tricks, Cherrn. It seems as if you do possess some measure of skill. I give you credit. Your appearance is very deceiving, though as a drow, I have trained to look past appearances." Just as quickly, he remarks to Narad, "You are going about your torture all wrong. You see, you are all limited by mortal bounds. I am the Chosen of a Deity. Let us see if I have a few tricks you do not..." Shadowlord stands still for one moment, then a pure black column of swirling energy blasts out of his hands, and comes in contact with the slaadi. The slaad shrieks in agony, for the cold power of Shadowfire has been known to astound dragons. "Much like the Chosen of Mystra, I too can channel pure magical essence. However, mine comes from the Shadow Weave, and is not as powerful as Silver Fire. Still, I find that the chill touch of shadow is far more effective." Shadowlord stops the maelstrom of Unholy Energy by closing his hands, but the slaad still writhes in anguish. "The only side effect of Shadowfire is it causes chill damage, which may cause him to sit there twitching for a while...." Shadowlord gives an evil grin, and replies, "We already have our information. The only question is, Why would Cyricists want to detain powerful visitors to the Keep? It's true that as a drow, I have numerous enemies. However, I tend to avoid Cyricists. Madness makes me ..... uncomfortable..."

Shadowlord smiles immensly. "Raven, my young friend. How are you? Though it is true that no one reveals all, unless they are weak willed, I sense this one has nothing left to tell us but the individual names of the attackers. I would much rather find out on my own, but I admit, physical torture is a favorite..... Very well then. Carry on."

Attach gutting hooks to its cheeks and then start pulling. It might not make it talk but it will make it smile.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine chuckles, then turns to Shadowlord

As I am quite sure you know Shadowlord, putting your best cards out there to begin with leaves no room for surprise, and that can indeed be one's downfall. My appearance serves the purpose..

Come on Gorad, we have some work to do. Summons up some dark chains of thunder, which imedialty flew at Gorad and flew at a wall where they anchored in the walls. Time for a shock. The chains begain to glow and then sparked until they released one of its stored charges through Gorads body. Where the chains bound his wrists and ankles the skin begain to smoke and burn giving off a awful stench. Ok enough of that. I wonder if he has anything to say? While we wait for him to answer I think ill get my tools prepared if we need further questioning

You fool! >Narad says to Cherrn when the severed leg starts to grow to be a new creature of its own. Narad thrusts his sword into the leg and utters a command word. The leg explodes, leaving nohing but ash.
Don't go messing with powers you don't know!
>Narad starts towards Gorad's severed hand but too late. Where the hand was just moments ago now stands a death-slaad. The slaad utters few magical words and hits the ground with its fist. Where it hit the ground, a large crack appears advancing towards Gorad. The wall behind Gorad shatters, releasing Gorad. Despite the chains that bound him, Gorad hisses a commandword and slams his hands together. On that instant Gorad disappears.>
Nice going Cherrn!
>Narad takes a deep breath and turns to Shadowlord>

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine merely smiles, then turns to the other Death-Slaad, with a flick of motion Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine sends out one end of the string, the string pierces the other Death-Slaad's head with a strange cutting sound. Now you will know pain. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine tightens the grip on the string and whispers a word of power unnoticeable to everyone else. There's a loud flash and the Death-Slaad stands in the middle of lightning and flames. The Death-Slaad roars in pain. Now you die! The Death-Slaad holds its head in pain, looks one last time at Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine knowing very well its time is up. Then dissappears in a pile of ash that is quietly blown away by the wind

You should have let me kill Gorad when we had the chance you fool.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine sighs

But how could you have known? I guess underestimating people is part of your nature Elf. Not to worry though. I can find it again.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine puts the string between his teeth again and starts whispering, a few seconds pass, then Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine looks at Narad

After a brief stint in the Astral Plane it is now in the sewers below Baldur's Gate.

>Narad starts laughing>
Should have let you kill him? Tell me my foolish companion, when do you understand that you can't kill him? You can slice 'n dice his head, burn what is left and feed the ashes to a dragon. It's no use! I merely saved your life.
>Narad gives Cherrn a wide smile>
You should thank me if anything Cherrn. But enough about that.
Do we need Gorad anymore? The cyricists that he mentioned are somewhere in here hiding from us. Or at least, somewhere near.
>Looks the other members of their group>
By going to Baldur's Gate, we will do exactly what the cyricists want. With us we would take a part of this place's protection.
>Narad's eyes return back to Cherrn>

Shadowlord finally seems to liven up, and, cracking a wide smile, remarks, "Excellent. However, I am not as foolish as you would think me, dalthiiri. I have lived as a shade for more than three thousand years. By your reckoning, I am ancient. I was there when Netheril fell, Myth Drannor was besieged by the Army of Darkness, and Ascalhorn became Hellgate Keep. So, do not seek to lecture me in intrigue." Turning towards Ezindir, Shadowlord says, "I sense that your companions were dismissed, and returned to the Astral Plane. How ever did you get them to come back?" He shrugs is if it is nothing interesting. "Regardless, I do thank you for the Shadowsilk." Taking the Shadowsilk from Ezindir, he chants in the ancient and evil dialect of the dark elves. "Jous uns'aa Talan Gorad, l' wael vel'uss ji ssiggrin uk gumash elgg uns'aa xuil tonaik kuman." At once, a large disc of shadow rises up from the courtyard floor, becoming more and more reflective, until it shows the form of Talan Gorad. As by the extension of Shadowlord's will, the image shifts again, showing duergar troops hiding nearby the slaadi. "Well, that is unexpected. The Cyricists have allied themselves with the Duergar, and Slaadi. But for what purpose? I have nothing they would want, save a slow and painful death." Shadowlord grins, gestures to his blades, and turns back toward the disc. As the image clears, a notable figure of Waterdeep emerges. "Hmmm. It seems they are located within Undermountain. The shadowscry spell shows Durnan, owner of the Yawning Portal Inn, which is reknown for having an entrance to Undermountain. So, what shall it be? Are we powerful, or crazy, enough to venture within the territory of Halaster Blackcloak?"

You really are ignorant aren't you Narad ? You didn't save my life because I was never in any danger at all. As long as it is in contact with the silk, then I am the one in charge.

Can you wrap air with your silk and tell it what to do? And how ignorant are you? Gorad is never really in contact with anything.
>Narad turns to Shadowlord ignoring Cherrn>
Do not take my words as an insult. And don't get too confident with your powers. Even those chosen by the gods can be killed.

We just proved that he is didn't we ? We captured him with the chains you fool. And the reason why he serves someone like you is obviously out of fear for his own life, so he can be killed you idiot!

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles at Narad

And yes i do control the empty air around the silk, that's how I divine information with it. So please elf, don't speak so loudly about things you clearly know nothing about.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine pushes past Narad and heads towards Shadowlord

Cherrn, master of silk, isn't it you who is talking about unfamiliar things? You don't know anything about Gorad or his powers, and he would have killed you on that spot if I haven't saved you.
Maeby you didn't quite understand my meaning about 'he being in contact with nothing' before, but I will not blame you for lack of intelligence if it is part of you character.
And did you not listen to my story before? He is under a spell. Maeby you are too? Are you under a deaf-spell? 'cause I could dispell it if you wish.
>Narad still smiles to Cherrn, though his smile doesn't reach his eyes>
Forgive me if I remember incorrectly, but isn't it because of your 'puny magics' that Gorad isn't here anymore?
I quess I can't expect too much from the likes of you.
You just know too much about the garbage of Calimport.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine turns to the elf and smiles at him

Pay attention to what is happening elf. I wasn't the one who tried to bind him. Sadly it is your elven ignorance that has kept such a creature alive. And I wouldn't try to rub the guilt of keeping it alive of on others because quite frankly it isn't working. And honestly, if it couldn't kill you, a poor excuse for a bladesinger, then why on earth would you think it would be able to kill me ? And don't speak about lack of intelligence to me, it is because you, Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine points to Norad, that this creature is alive. And by the looks of it it wants to kill. So in the essence you are the one who released this terror upon the world aren't you? And then you are to blame for the lives it will take as it rampages through it.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles a wide smile at Narad

And that Narad, "mighty" Bladesinger, is a clear evidence of lack of intelligence.

Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine turns away from Narad again and whispers a word in the Alzhedo tongue, then smiles at Shadowlord and rolls his eyes

Shall we get going ?

A wise man from Calimport once told me: "If a merchant puts sand in the flask of oil he's trying to sell you, then he isn't trying to sell you sand..."

So where do we go? Walk into a trap in Baulders Gate to the north. Or continue to search the keep?

Shadowlord turns toward Cherrn, Narad, Ezindir, and Raven. "Allies, we go to Waterdeep. Undermountain, ancient domain of Halaster the Mad, who is reputably older than my 3,000 years on Toril. Should any of you wish to stay here, I understand. For those of you willing to venture under Waterdeep...," Shadowlord gestures with his hand, and a portal of pure shadow opens, spewing out energy from the Plane of Shadow. "Follow me." Without further ado, Shadowlord walks straight into the portal. From the images within, it is safe to assume that this is some advanced variation of the Shadow-walk spell. The Entrance to Undermountain can clearly be seen through the translucent portal.

The Chosen of Vhaeraun
"Nature is governed by certain immutable rules. By virtue of claw and fang, the lion will always triumph over the goat.Given time, the pounding of the sea will wear away the stone. And when dark elves mingle with the lighter races, the offspring invariably take after the dark parent. It is all much the same. That which is greater shall prevail. Our numbers increase steadily, both through birth and conquest. The dark elves are the dominant race, so ordained by the gods." Ka'Narlist of the Ilythiiri.
