If I had wanted to cross you you would be dead already my dear friend. I do it to it to errrr bring our friendship to another level!
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine punches his fist triumphantly into the air
Ah yes that will do...
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine laughs loudly and slaps Shadowlord on his shoulder
Now let's get this thing started shall we?
Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles gently and looks Shadowlord directly in the eyes

Ezindir, do you know if Candlekeep has some place that we could lock him up? We don't want him to run around freely.
At least before we pay a visit to Talan Gorad.

Shadowlord grimaces, and replies, "I need not any shadows to protect me. I am the Chosen of Vhaeraun. However, Dramaniezzt serves as a spy, and is subtle, when need be." Looking over at the captive drow, Shadowlord exclaims, "I do not know you, your motives, or your master. However, that you have even dared to attack me is unthinkable." Turning to his companions, Shadowlord says, "I am now going to extract some information from our friend. If you are squeamish, this is the time to turn away." Taking his fine drowcrafted blades from his sheathes, he sharply cuts upward, drawing a gash accross the drow's cheek. "Who sent you?" Suddenly, the drow's wounds begin to heal, far too rapidly to be natural. Shadowlord's emotions are unreadable for a moment, then a frown crosses his features. "This is no mortal. He is an outsider, one of what they call the Death Slaadi, an extraplanar creature that I sometimes summon for information." He glares at Narad, and says rudely, "You had best tell me what we are dealing with, before I disembowel you, and offer you as a sacrifice to the Masked Lord."

Greetings Talan.
>The slim figure comes forth to light. The figure appears to be a gold elf dressed in a black robe. Talan starts to speak:
"Greetings to you too, Narad Arynn."
Talan points to his neck where a glowing neclace can be seen.
"This prevents you from using your 'skills' against me, so don't try anything funny">

All right, lets cut to the chase. What do you know about that man we talked about?
>"My payment first" Narad takes a small sack from his belt and tosses it to Talan. Talan catches it and goes through it.
"You are in luck" Talan says rising his head "The man you're looking for is in Baldurs Gate, he has an apartment there">

So now that we are through with that, lets move to more recent events. I would like to know why you tried to get Shadowlord killed?
>Suddently Talan's eyes take a red colour and his form misshapes somehow. With incredible speed he attacks Narad.
Narad spins away from the sudden attack drawing his sword an instant later.
Talan now has long claws and fangs and his shpeshifting continues.>

Shadowlord, for the first time throughout this venture, smiles. "Excellent." Shadowlord draws his two short swords, the Fangs of Vhaeraun, and uses his innate drow ability to place a globe of darkness over the combatants, placing Shadowlord at an advantage, since darkness is his element. All the while, Shadowlord remarks to Ezindir telepathically, using the grace of Vhaeraun. 'Do not seek to repremand me, pupil. It was I that introduced you to Vhaeraun, and as one of the Masked Lord's Chosen, I am quite capable discerning danger!' Shadowlord gracefully enters the globe of darkness, swords spinning at an incredibly fast pace. The swords themselves trail shadows, but that is impossible to tell within the Darkness Effect. Shadowlord exclaims, "Xal l'Barra plynn dos!" Murky tentacles of shadow rise up out of the ground, pinning the 'creature' that is Talan Gorad in place. At this moment, the darkness spell expires, and the others can see what became of the battle. Shadowlord stands towards the right, Narad to the left, and Gorad is held in place by the Shadows of Vhaeraun.

Talan, how many times do I have to tell you not to attack anyone? You owe your life to me again.
>the creature makes an agonizing sound and starts to turn back to his elf form>
I'll have to take that
>Narad cuts the necklace that Gorad had shown earlier and puts it to his pocket>
Now let me tell a bit about how I met Gorad:
It was about 40 years ago when I was summoned to investigate a series of killings in the northern part of Dalelands. I do not recall the name of the place since it was later on destroyed by Zenthies.
Anyway, through investigations I found out that the murderer was this creature, summoned by an evil wizard. The summoning had somehow gone wrong, because when I paid a visit to the wizards tower I found him slaughtered in a manner I wouldn't like to describe. The bloody trail of bodyparts led me on top of the tower where Gorad waited. He was different then, he was bigger and he posessed some heavy magic. So on that instant he attacked me.
Our battle went on and on, I was using every bit of my
baldesinger-skills that I had at that time. I sang my baldesong many hours without interception, weaving spells and dancing like mad.
My spells were running out and as a mortal I was exhausted, unlike my enemy. So when I was performing my bladesong I noticed a flaw in Gorad's defence. His mind was unprotected. So I used my psychic powers, causing the monster to fall asleep.
But that was just the beginnig of the hard part. No matter how many enchantments I laid upon my sword, I couldn't kill the thing.
I had to drag Gorad many miles to the nearest temple, while keeping him asleep. Talking about a headache! (though some scrolls I found from the wizards tower helped)
At the temple the clerics also tried killing the great beast, but in vain. Finally upon calling their god's power they were able to strip Gorad from his true powers and it was time for me to have a little chat with him.
It turned out, as you have now propably quessed, that Gorad was an extraplanar creature and a high ranking one too.
Our first attemps of discussion ended up in serious pain for Gorad. After a while I made a deal with him. He would be free, but he had to stay loyal to the elves of Faerun (not drow, though) and he wouldn't be allowed to commit any violent actions. He made the deal because he was too scared for his life.
We made the deal under a spell that made it unbreakable. You wouldn't believe how much fun I had telling him that I couldn't kill him!
But it was too late for him, the deal was made and he took up life as a spy for the elves.
I've been using him occasionally since then. He commands a wide network 'o spies along the Sword Coast and he has his way getting into places that others can't. This time I needed information about the salughter of my family and the rest you know.
>Narad watches his companions and then cheerily adds:>
Hope that wasn't too long story, but you asked for it Shadowlord.
And about me being a psionicist, well I don't like announcing it to everyone.

"Very interesting... At first, when you mentioned him, I had the assumption that he was Daemonfey, bred of elves and demons. However, now, it is clear he is a Death Slaad, one of the cruelest of that extraplanar race. You say he was loyal to you? The first thing any drow learns is that no one is loyal forever." Shadowlord warily looks at both his companions, however, as Shadowlord himself is the only full-blooded drow in the company, he'd probably be the most suspicious. After a short period of judging his allies, he continues, "You are a psion, then? I have had some experience with them before, and have taken necessary precautions. I was once hired to assassinate a high-ranking Priestess from House Oblodra in Menzoberranzan. During that time, I was gifted with permanent mind-shielding. You'll get no information from me, my friend. Though I doubt I could call you friend, as relations between drow and faerie elves are, shall we say, less than cordial."

"Thank you. I could have eviscerated him on spot, but then we'd have nothing to torture." Shadowlord sneers, and waits to see the reaction from Narad, for surface elves do not take kindly to torture. "Ezindir, I require something of you." Shadowlord whispers something in the Abyssal tongue, and Dramaniezzt, his shadow companion, appears at his side. "If you are willing, Dramaniezzt will lead you to Chaulssin, in the Underdark. Go to what used to be House Teken'ghym, of which I was Patron Father. Enter my room, and say, L' Orbdrinus Senger Zhal Ilstar Phor L' Isto Phor. That should grant you access to my armory. There, you will find a rare variety of shadowsilk. Bring it to me, and anything you desire from my armory is yours. I was once leader of the First House of Chaulssin. I believe that something in the armory might catch your eye."
