This is taken from the Candlekeep Inn, and I'm turning it into a roleplaying opportunity, much like the Wanderer's Quest. However, all peoples are free to join, so long as their posts retain to the roleplaying topic.
As Shadowlord turns toward the back door, he hears some odd whispering that seems to be uttered in the harsh goblin tongue, coming from one of the back booths. Noticing this, he pulls up the hood of his drow piwafwi, and uses his skills as a shadowdancer to become invisible. "When we kill this Sha-do-lourd, I wants his weapons." "Mine, thems will be. I it will be who bites his filthy neck!" Sticking to the shadows, Tsabrak Teken'ghym, the Shadowlord, enters the booth, moving as silent as the grave. He notices that his would-be assailants are actually a bunch of mangy kobolds, though how they were able to gain entrance into the keep is a mystery. "Probably gave Alaundo a Kobold Cookbook," Shadowlord chuckles to himself. Positioning himself right behind the goblin-kin, Shadowlord tossed back his concealing piwafwi. "Why don't I settle this little argument for you?," he asked in a ringing voice. A fierce grin split his angular dark elven visage. "How about if you all get-nothing?" The kobolds froze, staring at the drow rogue in suprise and dread. One exceptionally brave kobold blurts out, "Yous is Sha-do-lourd? The elf-man lied! He sayed it was human wench!" Then, as one, the diminutive creatures shrieked in terror, scrambling over chairs and tables to escape the nightmare before them. There was nothing in all the Underdark that kobolds feared more than drow, and for good reason too. With one hand, Shadowlord drew his adamantite sword, while the other uncoiled a whip of pure shadowsilk from his belt. In an almost lazy gesture, he flicked his wrist, and the whip struck like a black serpent, taking the feet out from under one kobold. His sword soon followed, impaling the goblin-kin straight through the stomach. Like a dying insect, the kobold squirmed for a moment on the end of his blade. Then, Tsabrak heaved the creature aside, turning toward the next. Shadowlord's grin broadened as he cut a swath through the shrieking throng. Another kobold expired at the end of his blades, it's throat expertly slit, even as the creature's entrails were spilled upon the inn's clean wooden floors. Even as one hand wrested the blade away from his latest kill, the other lashed out with the whip. Supple shadowsilk coiled around a fleeing kobold's neck, stopping it in its tracks. The thing clutched at its throat, fingers scrabbling in vain. Shadowlord gave the whip an expert tug, snapping the pitiful creature's neck, and disposing of the last of the goblin-kin. Looking at all the blood strewn about the tavern, he sheathed his weapons, and threw a heavy sack full of platinum pieces toward the bar. "This should cover the cost of repairs, plus expenses." Turning his attention toward the patrons, he exclaims with an evil grin, "There are plenty of the fey folk here in Candlekeep. Now, the only trouble is discovering which surface elf ordered my demise?"

As a bladesinger, I cannot allow this. Though I respect the grounds of Candlekeep and would not like to draw my sword I warn you: shall you try to hurt an elf it will be you who is struck down. Know this and live |

I have known some drow, most of them now dead. Sorry if my mistrust towards my dark cousin is somehow wrong but I like to keep on eye of the drow.
And I was merely warning, so for all I know I can be your best friend but if you try to harm an elf it'll be the end of you. Forgive me if my words are offensive, but baldesingers code is a strict one. |

Then it will be about who attacked first. And of course if I'm there when you start fighting I'll first try to prevent the whole thing. I've always wished that things wouldn't turn violent, but as I have discovered in my many years of adventuring, wishing just isn't enough. (not talking about the spell) But as long as you won't engage in combat with a member of elven race (not including drow) you should be fine. As a member of elven race you can call out for my help. If you do this for a good reason I will be there.
And by that thing of who attacked who, many elves have died because a baldesinger couldn't have decided wich side he was on. This is wery regrettable, but is allowed (not a job well done, though) by baldesingers. Sometimes being a bladesinger is just very complicated. |

Hmm... I'll have to think about it. Anyway, joining you would be a good idea, because I could keep an eye on you both. And help you if needed. This may seem like weird thing from a bladesinger, but I'm far from a regular baldesinger. Plus, I'm here because of a rather boring errand, so I'm really looking forward to have something to do... Do not think that I completetly trust you. As I have said, I respect the grounds of this place and would rather not draw my sword. But in the mean time...

"I regret to inform you that I myself will not be leading you." Shadowlord waves his hands, and a horrid, unearthly wail can be heard. Suddenly, the darkness spews out an exact copy of Shadowlord. "Rather, I shall not personally lead the expidition. My Shadow Double will. Refer to it as you would me. It has all my abilities, except for the fact that it can be turned, and I cannot." |

Ezindir's double wishiels gladly at a tune and begins to walk, he walks rigth into the hard walls of Candlekeep and falls down on the ground. One rock falls down from exacktly the point where his head hit the wall and hits him in his head. He stay down on hte ground for a while before he shakes his head and rises. With the same grin in his face he say I think you better lead on Shades double. |

I'd like to know that also. After all, I'm not that comfortable going around woth couple of duplicates. >Glances his companions> Though I have a suprise or two up in my sleeve, I would prefer travelling with some 'real' people. And now that I remember to ask; why did those goblins attack? Any idea? |

Something is getting closer. >Starts to draw his sword from his back, when an obivously drunken man appears behind a corner. Narad puts his sword back to its scabbard> Sorry, my mistake. >Begins to walk without further regard to his campanions> So how about answering my question? |

Hmm... That might know trouble. I've ran to those guys before and they aren't very nice. But what is there in Candlekeep that cyricists want? And why attack Shadowlord? a diversion perhaps? >Narad starts eying his surroundings. Never can one be too prepared when it comes to cyrycists> I'd also like to see this thing going somewhere. |

Raven slips around the corner leaning against the wall So a murderer is in the walls of the keep. More like an attempt. Both attacks have been in public and daylight. Sounds like an amature to me. |

Shadowlord's image responds in a hollow, monotonous voice, reminescent of the chill whisper of the grave. "Quite amatuer. Ah, my fellows, we have arrived at the gate!" Shadowlord looks around in the darkness, and then suddenly says, "You know, I, as a drow, have darkvision, but Narad, as an elf, you only have low-light vision. Can you see alright?" Shadowlord smirks. "You wouldn't want to be caught with a blade in your back while you're unprepared...." |

An Avariel/Drow eh ? How did that come to play ? I thought perversions of nature was something you could find in Darkhold and in Thay, not within the confines of Candlekeep..

Shadowlord's image sneers, and rasps, "A Cali****e? Shouldn't you be indulging yourself at some .... brothel?"
(NOTE:This is role-playing, for those who would take offense.)
(EDIT: Alaundo, I tried to spell out C-a-l-i-s-h-i-t-e, as in a person from Calimshan. However, it censored my word. Can this be undone? No matter, I think Cherrn knows who I'm referring to.) |

My good Shadowlord... Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles gently and waves his hand at Shadowlord's image We both know that there isn't a decent brothel within 20 miles of Candlekeep. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine rolls his eyes What I am wondering is what such a classy, and intelligent, Drow such as yourself wants to do with such a freak of nature, a prime example of a halfbreed if you will..? Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine sighs deeply Oh well, does it matter really..? |

"I find him useful, among other things. So long as he worships The Masked God of Night, we are in accord." Shadowlord inspects the ground, and, finding a bit of kobold blood, dips one finger in it, and traces a drow glyph on the ground. The glyph shines a dark and sickly red, and Shadowlord's image chants, "Meo.... Tetrak... Glash!" All at once, a horrid wailing sound, that could only be produced by the damned, is heard. A dark column of shadow reaches up to the Night Above, and when it clears, an undead shadow stands in its place. "I don't suppose you've ever seen a Shadow Companion. This," he gestures towards the shadow, "is Dramaniezzt." |

Interesting trick, it is one I have seen before though. One time at one of Caliph's get-togethers the Caliph, all praise on his name, had invited one of those shadowy scoundrels from Shade. He did indeed use the same sort of trick. Amusing really. Sadly the Caliph didn't think the same and the Shade was promptly removed from the banquet. Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine laughs and thinks back Oh my what a banquet that was... Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine scratches his birthmark shaped like the Maiden of Misfortune's holy symbol on his neck Lots of interesting things happened, oh things that girl could... Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine looks up and regains his composure Oh! So you are saying that some moronic creatures are trying to murder you most foul my dear Shadowlord? Do you desire the help of your supportive friend Cherrn? Cherrn Yn Ravva El Hammaine smiles brightly and extends his arm towards Shadowlove, then suddenly retracts it and holds it in front of himself palm up, fire slowly encompassing his hand Well..? |

"Your assistance is...... welcome, Cherrn. Do not cross me, however, as I brook no insubordination." Dramaniezzt, who is in the background, seems content to gnaw on a kobold bone, however, his red eyes actively scan the courtyard, locking on Cherrn more than once... |
