I wouldn't mind learning more about it, I just got back into the game. Or rather, I am trying. So I have not heard of that before.

i got into it after getting PLAYERS HANDBOOK.for me i as able to make knight hoods and druid circles and give a reason why group had to do something. having a stranger in a tavern send you on a mission gets old. now your order needs something makes it better

I've made use of of affiliations/religions/organizations for years. I do this as a player and a DM by either automatically making many of my characters members of one group or another or by asking players to consider it. The 3.x affiliations are just a more streamlined method for doing so.

I have a dream that one day, all game worlds will exist as one.

i dont make them be part of one. i lime it better when they strive to be part of one. that way they can suggest more on how they wanna go.

That actually sounds quite interesting, and yes..the random stranger in a tavern job gets old after a while.
