Wow, that's pretty damn cool, and would help with a major issue I keep running into - fitting everything from a small, detailed area (like Cormyr) onto my world map.

I am definitely going to be playing around with this - Thanks for sharing!

Wow.. just wow. Oh how I wish there'd be a new Interactive Atlas.. or some fan updates/expansions! I truly fear the day when I can't get the maptools program to open in windows anymore.

This would be awesome to see. But remember to take into consideration map projection issues.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_projection

If you project a square or rectangular image onto a globe, you'll get distortions at the poles.
