Next month in Dragon 427 will be an article on the Sundering by Ed Greenwood;

The Sundering:
To Rule Two Worlds
By Ed Greenwood
As Abeir and Toril move apart, there are a few
fell entities who seek to rule parts of both worlds,
and maintain (or create anew) linkages between
the two worlds so they can move back and
forth between them. A handful of heroes have
discovered these ambitious evils and seek to thwart
them, but they need help—and fast.

I am VERY much looking forward to this article. It would be cool if some portals were maintained between Abeir and Toril. It will also be great to see the cultures that were trasplanted to Abeir return. Having spent 100 years in an alien world, the possibilities are endless for what they will bring back to Toril with them. Making the 100 year time jump work is tough, but there are few minds more creative than Ed Greenwood's.

Yeah, I agree with this. It's also nice to see that there are chances that Abeir will get attention as a world on its own. One of the mistakes in nuking huge regions of the Realms was that all the possibilities and plot hooks they offered were removed without development, it'd be stupid to do that again with another region.

Mathematics is the art of giving the same name to different things.

There's a regular column by Ed Greenwood called Eye on the Realms in each issue of Dragon that's really good and has run for a few years now. I haven't seen that many Backdrop articles that focus on the Realms, but they're pretty good too.

And the nice thing about subscribing is you get access to all the back issues, which means a ton of FR Goodness is yours for the taking.

I look forward to it!! I wonder if it will be his Eye on The Realms column, or if it will be a seperate article dealing on The Sundering, but i hope its the first of a long serie of articles dealing on the Realms Shaking Event repercussions.

Yep, I plan on subscribing again heading into 5E because I think the Realms may take more prominence in the mags going forward.

Very interesting.

I'm glad I renewed my subscription a few months back. It's looking like the Realms might be returning "big time" to the pages of both DRAGON and DUNGEON.

Woot!
