Any realms books that focus on Rangers and their activities?

Thanks.

You mean other then that Drow one?

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards."
"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

I haven't read most of the older FR novels, so I can't speak for those, but of the more recentish novels the only ones where I could say that a Ranger was one of the main characters is in the Knights of Myth Drannor trilogy by Ed Greenwood.

That's assuming that you already know about Drizzt. Though to be fair he's kind of a gimpy Ranger, he rarely shows us his woodsman skills. If Salvatore didn't keep calling him a Ranger and have him worship Mielikki everyone would consider him a Fighter.

Sir Markham pointed out, drinking another brandy. "A chap who can point at you and say 'die' has the distinct advantage".

That guy never really felt like a ranger to me.

The novel Sojourn features the blind semi-retired ranger Montolio "Mooshie" DeBrouchee, who was Drizzt's ranger mentor, and who seems to have withheld quite a few of his ranger skills from his apprentice.

Fights two-handed, tracks, fights giants well, fights humanoids well, sneaky in the woods (and underground), woodwise...all sounds like a ranger to me...the Drow that is...

As for novels with Rangers...I would love to see one about non-epic heroic rangers dealing with ranger stuff...

The Old Grey Box and AD&D for me!

Drizzt has never shown any particular affinity for nature. We never really seem him defending a wilderness area or pack of wild animals. He's got some of the trappings of a ranger, but where is his ranger heart and soul?

He seems to be more hung up on personal adventure and protecting his friends.

At the risk of seeming self-serving, I'll diffidently mention that I've twice used rangers in major supporting roles, once in the Year of Rogue Dragons trilogy and once in The Black Bouquet. The ranger in The Black Bouquet, though, is a fish out of water in a dangerous urban environment, so if you want to see a ranger doing typical ranger stuff, that one might not do it for you.

As I recall, several characters in Ed's Shadow of the Avatar trilogy were rangers.

The lead character who received a boon from Alassra from The Simbul’s Gift by Lynn Abbey seems like a ranger to me.

Every beginning has an end.

I forgot about the Rangers Three. I need to re-read that trilogy someday. It was a good one.

Bah, any other drow could do most of that stuff anyways.

He does not seem to be interested in Mielikki anymore either.

I enjoyed that book when I read it but have forgotten some of the details. IIRC he was just an adventurer/explorer and not a ranger.
