OK this post is here for my players and other DMs. First off let me start by saying that the location they are at is still undecided, and the wiz hasnt a name yet.
This post is basically for other Dms who want ideas for their quests or can help me out with my own quest, or problems in it.

I have 2 players at the moment and have currently had 3 sessions with them.

The Heros: Keth an Elf Barb and A nameless Human wizard.
Forgotten Realms Setting
Session 1: The Heros had several (minor)possesions stolen during their stay in an inn one night and asked around town trying to find out whop might steal their things. Turns out that many people had been losing items the last few weeks. A halfling theif told them that recently the local theives guild had been taken over by a new leader though he didnt know who. The PCs decided to investigate further by going to the theives guild. The place was heavily guarded by cloaked senturies so the PCs went through the sewers to see if there was an entry way down there. They were waylayed by about 20 Kobolds and they quickly dispatched them though only after the wizard took a nasty hit from a kobold crossbow. they continues through the sewers tring to decern where, if there was a door into the guild, it would be. After many hours they found what appeared to be the door to the theives guild. After fighting there way through some more kobolds(inside the celler of the guild) they ran into a few lizard folk warriors and dispatched thim with a little trouble. they found a note on one of the guards ,guarding a double door which led up a stairwell, that said : "If anyone disturbs me unanounced they will pay with their lives"-choke. so naturally they went up the stairs and opened the door leading to "choke"'s room. the heavy smell of chlorine wafted out and they found a dragon laying atop a pile of gold and weapons and whatnot. After a short discussion with the dragon they decidced that if the dragon were to live then the towns people would be in jeopardy, so they valiant ly fought the Green dragon known as ChokeingCloud and...(pause for dramatic effect)...
they died....
no just kidding they killed the dragon took its horde distributed it out to the towns people and took a few things for themselves.
Afterward the characters helped build back the First(and much more honorable) theives guild and placed the halfling they had talked to in charge of it.
end part 1

Finally got my DSL back! But anyways back on topic. An honorable thieve's guild? Sounds a little strange to me. So why would the PCs redistribute gold to the community and then rebuild the thieve's guild that stole it? Sounds somewhat strange to me but I'm sure you left out a few details here and there.

Well I don't find it all that strange

1. Assuming the heroes are of good or neutral alignment.

2. The people they asked around had described their things lost and they wanted to make things right so they gave the things back.

3. Well I guess they felt better with an "honest" theif then a rampage theif guild.

Well I suppose every city must have some type of theive's guild but I was probably used to playing my LN knight. He would have never done such a thing. Well I guess it will be a nice change when I get to play my CN halfling thief this Sunday. A 180 degree turn in the opposite direction as far as thinking goes.

Indeed, well, not totally 180, as that would be CE, but mayhaps a 90 degree angle???

"Nature is governed by certain immutable rules. By virtue of claw and fang, the lion will always triumph over the goat.Given time, the pounding of the sea will wear away the stone. Our numbers increase steadily, both through birth and conquest. The dark elves are the dominant race, so ordained by the gods." Ka'Narlist of the Ilythiiri.

Yeah Glad to see that you are back Bel. The original thieves guild never stole from the lower class citizens, only from the most wealthy of the community. In the PCs eyes they were honorable. And the PCs kept most of what wasnt described to them except a few weapons which were givin to the town guard.
