I am not entirely sure if this is canon or not, but I play a MUD based on Forgotten Realms and outside of Ardeep there are these conical, rune-carved structures with shield-shaped caps on them.
I have been unable to find any solid information about them, so I assume they are probably not from FR canon. In either case, I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on it.

What are they made out of and how big are they?

I learned later today that they are not from canon in any fashion, sorry to jump the gun.
But to answer your question, they are about 12 ft. tall and are made out of mithril (I assume they are hollow because the wider ends of the cones have shield-shaped caps with a locking mechanism on the side.)
They are, from what my character could gather, a type of mythal that suppresses and imprisons the demonic taint within deep Ardeep to keep the corruption from spreading or escaping beyond the boundaries of the forest. They are the remnants of an old campaign, unfortunately. |

| It's a pretty cool game. I would say it is about 1/3 Hack'n'slash, 1/3 Tabletop, and 1/3 Sandbox RPG. I won't plug the name here though, because I'm not sure if the Sages are cool with that. |
