But look at the roster of Wizbro people who will be attending. They have no choice but to hype up "5E" while they're there ... go, go, go, don't miss out on those collectible freebies, ha. |

yea, but only 1/3 of the book is an adventure, the other 2/3 of the book are baldur's gate info
Murder in Baldur's Gate: Sundering Adventure 1 (D&D Adventure) [Hardcover] Ed Greenwood (Author), Matt Sernett (Author)
Baldur's Gate is a fantastic medieval city with a long and storied history -- a city on the verge of tearing itself asunder. Storm Over Baldur's Gate presents the city in the time of the Sundering, a period that will define the future of the Forgotten Realms. In addition to providing 64 pages of in-depth information on the city and its inhabitants, this product includes a harrowing 32-page adventure in which the player characters defend Baldur's Gate against an ancient evil long thought slain.
Storm Over Baldur's Gate allows characters to participate in important events connected to the Sundering and glimpse the future of the Forgotten Realms.
Components: 64-page setting book describing Baldur's Gate and its inhabitants 32-page adventure book Four-panel, foldout DM screen keyed to the adventure Illustrated folder
and it's not really "D&D Next" it's all part of the build up to the 5E release...

You'll likely play the adventure book once. Who knows, maybe even twice. But you might refer to the setting book countless times over the years, even when D&D 6E and beyond make the adventure obsolete. |

They talked about this at Gencon. With the (hopefully) final Sundering on the horizon, it was announced that Ed and RAS were each going to be writing an adventure module, which would focus on a location during the Sundering. Part of the adventure will include a feedback form, kind of like the current LFR: you play the adventure, you fill out the form saying what happened, and they will incorporate that into the Realms for DDN.
So for a hypothetical example, if the Baldur's Gate module is about saving the city from rampaging orcs, depending on how the majority of groups finish the adventure, Baldur's Gate will either be still standing or be an orc warren in DDN.
That's what these two adventures are - the Baldur's Gate one is Ed's, the Crystal Shard one is RAS's. |
