Finally finished A Feast for Crows, and now I'm revisiting Ready Player One.
Nearly finished with Ready Player One; it's a book I find very enjoyable and thus hard to put down. After that one, I'll reread another fave from last year, The Rook. My reading list is open after that; I'll prolly focus on new stuff for a few weeks, until I decide it's time to revisit the Dresden Files, in preparation for Skin Game. I don't think I've done the whole series since before Changes. |

And now I'm on The Rook. I think I've mentioned this before, but I still think the intro to the book is one of the most intriguing ones I've read: the heroine finds herself in a park, in the rain, surrounded by dead bodies wearing gloves -- and she's got amnesia, and remembers nothing at all before that moment. She fumbles in her coat pocket and finds a letter from herself, to herself. The letter tells her her name, and that the previous her had been warned she would find herself in this exact situation -- so she was able to prepare herself, somewhat, by writing down everything the amnesiac version of her would need to know. She also gives herself the option of simply getting the heck out of Dodge and starting over.
On top of that, we eventually find out that she is a ranking member of a British organization that is kinda like the X-Men acting as Mulder and Scully in the X-Files. |

Wooly, what did you think ofA Feast for Crows? I enjoyed the Iron Islands and Dorne chapters. Asha, Victarion, Euron and Aeron were interesting, as were the Sand Snakes and Darkstar. I felt Brienne's journey could've been condensed, as could Cersei's chapters. Their stories were good, don't misunderstand me, but I think Martin stretched them too thin. Sam's journey seemed a bit stretched as well. I felt that the most important things to come out of it were his meetings with Marwyn and "Pate."
I'm reading The Steel Remains by Richard K Morgan. I could see this easily being a story set in Dragonlance, taking place right after the Cataclysm (when Krynn abandoned the gods) if you interpret the "Scaled Folk" as draconians and the major religious powers as the sort of charlatan clerics that were running around at that point in Krynn's history. |

| I'll finish with my current read today -- The Wit and Wisdom of Discworld. Which has, not surprisingly, rekindled my interest in tackling what I have left to read in the DISCWORLD series. So I might read one of the few remaining recent releases for the series next. |

I enjoyed it... Though it left me wondering a few things. What was the word Brienne spoke? How is Arya supposed to answer the question of who she is? How will Jaime respond to the note from Cersei?
I was disappointed at the lack of Tyrion. I have the next book, but I'm once more taking a break from Westeros. |

How do you find it so far? It's been in my to-read stacks for so long.
And how do you find the "gay angle"? My gay and straight friends alike have divided opinions about it. Don't know whom to believe. |

| I'm about to start Snow White and the Seven Samurai. It's a Tom Holt book, so I'm not sure about it -- he's been really hit or miss for me. I've really enjoyed some of his books, like Flying Dutch (the first one I read by him) and Faust Among Equals. Blonde Bombshell was enjoyable, but wasn't as good as the other two. May Contain Traces of Magic was enjoyable, but something about it simply didn't work for me. Falling Sideways was meh, at best, and Little People I did not care for. |

| Just started on the Rogue, the second book in the traitor spy trilogy. However ,so far at least it does not seem to be as good as the previous books in the series. Hope the story improves in the latter parts of the book. |

Finally got some time to read and finished up Hazards, the 4th book in the Lucifer Jones series by Mike Resnick. It was pretty good. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I could have rad it uninterrupted, but such is life...
I also read Cutter the Drizzt-related graphic novel featuring To'sun Armgo. Found it a bit underwhelming. Not a bad story but somewhat lacking. I think this was meant more as a bridge leading up to Salvatore's next series.
Not sure what I'll read next |

Hello, all. I have a question. I have been trying to recall but can't find it my memory. No doubt one of you will know the answer. In what FR novel does Danilo Thann find himself in a riddle competition with a green dragon? Cheers, Afet |

Excellent. Thank you, Wooly. My PCs are, unwisely, crossing through the Forest of Wyrms, Northeast of Boraskyr Bridge. So, naturally, they will be accosted by a Green Dragon. I plan to use Grimnosh's riddle. Cheers, Afet |
