I am currently re-reading Elminster novels and reading Streams Of Silver. I ended up buying the three books of the Icewind Dale trilogy. Definitely worth it.

Oh yeah that was a pretty mediocre book, at least in my opinion.
I mean it had potential but failed to live up to it. Too bad especially since it was set in an interesting locale.

I just started Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, and I'm already quite intrigued... 50 pages in, and we've found out that it's a very odd bookstore that doesn't seem to sell a lot of books -- but it does have some very strange folks that come in and borrow books... Books that aren't found on any website, and that have some sort of ciphers in them... And the owner, Mr. Penumbra, wants a detailed description of each customer -- what was he wearing, how did he act, what were the buttons on his coat made of, etc... It's all quite intriguing.

That does seem quite interesting. Please let me know if you liked it once you finsh the whole book.

I've quite enjoyed it; I'm going to flag it as one of my fave new books for this year.

I'm actually a bit irked at myself for not having finished it, yet... I've been eagerly devouring this one. Yesterday, at the end of my lunchbreak, I had only 24 pages left to read in the book -- and no time to get in that last little bit of reading. I figured I'd finish it last night, but then I crashed early... And I didn't have quite enough time to finish it this morn, before work!

It will be finished this eve. And I will start another new one, the steampunk book my toddler picked out -- Gideon Smith and the Mechanical Girl.

Thanks for the heads up Wooly. This definitely goes on my to read list on goodreads. Unfortunately I am a bit busy right now but hopefully I get my hands on it soon .

I'm on Nietzsche: The Man and His Philosophy now.

I don't think I'll be skimming through this read as I would usually... it's a pretty intense look at the philosopher and his works.

Just finished Stephen Kings's Doctor Sleep. This may well be the best book he's written in the last 10 years or more! I can't say enough about this; excellent from start to finish.

Now just doing a reread of Azure Bonds. Good thing I read this while I was young; I enjoy the characters and their personalities so much, but it now reads too much like a pure video game adaptation. However, the wonderful Realmslore nods and such that are dropped mean way more to me now that I know what they are!

Finished Brimstone Angels by Erin M. Evans. I really enjoyed this one. Lots of action and a great story. In a few places I had to remind myself Farideh is a teenage girl but otherwise a great read. Now reading Brimstone Angels: Lesser Evils

Just finished up Troy Denning's Star Wars Crucible. Wow those last chapters of the book were an emotional roller coaster. I'm tempted to try to start something else, but with The Adversary so close to release I'm uncertain.

Finished reading City of the Fallen Sky yesterday. Decided to take a break from reading all these fantasy novels to read a truly intellectual piece of non-fiction/humor, The Sensuous Dirty Old Man, by Dr "A" (whom some of you might know better as Isaac Asimov). Of course, whether the book is actually 'intellectual' or not depends on your point of view.

Just finished 'Azure Bonds.' Any misgivings I had about not liking it excepting nostalgia were either unfounded or unnecessary. Still really enjoyed a lot!

And oddly enough, the next book on my stack is Stephen King's '11/22/63.' An odd coincidence for sure.

I hear you, Renin. I finished Azure Bonds not too long ago as well. Was awesome to essentially read through what felt like a session of D&D :)

Reading Captive Prince: Volume Two by S. U. Pacat. Great development of Damen and Laurent's relationship--slow, believable, and uncheesy. And finally, Pacat explores the "outside world." (In volume 1, almost everything happened in the palace.)

Friends betray one another, and "snakes" still lurk among the prince's company . . .

Every beginning has an end.

I'm done with Castles of the Inner Sea.

It's a neat book, and I've come away from it with several new ideas for I'd like to incorporate into similar fortified locales that I've set up around the Inner Sea of the Realms.

Next up ... Hmmm. I don't know yet.

Yeah, if I was playing a Golarion character, there are a couple of towns I'd pick from Towns of the Inner Sea as my homeland.

Unfortunately, I've yet to receive my copy, so I've had to find something else.

And I'm going with Shakespeare's The Tragedy of King Richard The Third. It's one of the few TRAGEDIES that I don't re-read all that often... but watching a documentary last evening about the real-life discovery of Richard III's skeleton prompted my re-interest.

First time?? If so; nice. I know I'm getting around to rereading it, as I've been re-immersing myself in lore, and I'll be honest, when I read it at the time; it was NOT the book I thought I was going to read. :)

Just finished reading Old mans Wars. I had intended to read this book ages ago but at least I finally got around to it and it certainly did not disappoint. Interesting characters and an original plot hook you early on and the good old fashioned sci fi action keeps you coming back for more.
I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
