I finished Exiles in Arms: Moving Targets today. I'm still on book 2 of Harry Potter, but I went ahead and downloaded and started Dark Convergence, another Warmachine ebook. It's got Nemo and the Convergence of Cyriss in it... Though I'd not play the Convergence, I've been interested in Cyriss and her followers since I saw the illustration of one of her priests in Liber Mechanika, and Nemo is my favorite warcaster (at least, pNemo is).

The Lost Tribe of the Sith the collected stories...

"These things also I have observed: that knowledge of our world is
to be nurtured like a precious flower, for it is the most precious
thing we have. Wherefore guard the word written and heed
words unwritten and set them down ere they fade . . . Learn
then, well, the arts of reading, writing, and listening true, and they
will lead you to the greatest art of all: understanding."

Oooo! That was a great collection, and a fine addition to any Sith-enthusiast's library. It certainly doesn't fall back on the unfortunately somewhat pervasive stereotypical view of the Sith as "dark and brooding assassins who want nothing more than to destroy the Jedi." It really does present a wholly new and refreshing look at how one branch of the Sith viewpoint has evolved over thousands of years.

I'm so behind on my reading of the Pathfinder Tales series... that it's almost too embarrassing to mention.

I'm behind, too. I've only read about half of those books... Though I did load the ebook version of The Wizard's Mask onto my Nexus, to have it more readily available for reading....

Once I read The Wizard's Mask and King of Chaos I will be all caught up. The only other series that I have currently read all of is the Shannara series.

I had to walk away from Brooks. I stopped right before the duology books detailing Paranor's beginning; have the books been any good since then?

I just feel he ran everything into the ground, and the wonder and breadth of his fantasy world and it's magic had gone stale for me. Like a battered dog, I kept coming back, but it never seemed to live up to what I hoped it would be.

Reading The Fall of Five, book 4 of the Lorien Legacies series by Pittacus Lore. Now on chapter 4. The first three chapters alone are full of fun and surprises, and a reunion that has been long overdue. Adam: a Mogadorian with Legacies. Color me intrigued . . .

Perhaps it’s too early to say this, but if things proceed as they begin, I might regain my faith in this series. (Yes, I’ve lost it—or a big chunk of it—after reading The Rise of Nine.)

Every beginning has an end.

Great choice! I'm assuming you're already familiar with the developments of the Borg prior to this series, Jeremy?

I only ask because I've heard some folk complain that it's a little confusing coming immediately from what happened to the Borg at the end of the Voyager television series and then going straight into these books without reading anything in-between.

Memories of Ice by Steven Erikson. I was emotionally exhausted after this book, but in a good way. Erikson giving his supporting characters interesting quirks, like Spindle's hair shirt, or Buke's desire for noble suicide, really makes the secondary cast come alive.

Whiskeyjack was awesome.

Only with the contents of J.M. Dillard's Resistance. I haven't read Before Dishonor by Peter David.

I'd read the Time series but found it too raw and emotional; it was like reading tales from the Iraq War but set in the Star Trek universe.

I like the Titan series of books, though I've fallen behind on those.

All the Bridgeburners are awesome! And wait till you get to the more recent books in the series, then you will know what it is to be truly exhausted. I had to recharge my batteries for a year after I read Dust of Dreams.

The Purifying Fire by Laura Resnik. An entry in the MtG series about Chandra Nalaar, I highly recommend it if you're interested in a strong female character.

I'm currently reading Evermeet by Elaine Cunningham and E. Godz by Robert Asprin & Esther Friesner (reading about two chapters of each a day). Lovin' both of them, but they've been giving me the strangest dreams (not that that's a complaint).

I'm hoping I can start The Companions at some point today. I've had to temporarily put a lot of my current fiction reading on hold because of a stack of Python-related books that I've had to read for a project at work.

I've almost finished the last hefty programming tome in that stack, so now I'm longingly looking at my ever-growing "To-Read" stacks of fiction and wondering just how many books to tackle at the same time, next.

Python as in Monty, reptile or programming? Or are you going to Sage-ify them and combine the three?
