Dennis, is Hunter x Hunter like a mature version of the Pokemon concept? Tamsar, I particularly liked the credits scene in That 70's Show when Alice Cooper and some other guys were doing a D&D session. |

No. It is way better. The chimera ants are not just monsters. They are something else. And Gon's gang are not some monster/pokemon collectors. |

Not Sheldon. He complained that Leonard wasn't the DM, as is the norm... But then Howard's use of celebrity impersonations, as NPCs, won Sheldon over entirely. |

Trailer of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.—Looks fine. Though I’m not overly thrilled. But it’s Whedon, so it’s got to be decent at least.
Trailer of The Blacklist—Looking forward to this. It has a touch of Nikita and 24, and I’m not sure yet if that’s a good thing. Still, it looks interesting enough, even if the premise is already done in Nikita’s “Dirty Thirty.” |

On episode 22 of Nikita: Some nice, unexpected twists, especially on the president’s fate. It’s a bit saddening to see Division destroyed for good, but they all needed a fresh start, so it’s probably for the best. |

On episode 80 of Hunter X Hunter: It looks like the hunters would have a great deal of trouble with the chimera ants as the said creatures have the ability to see Nen.
There are some disturbing scenes that scream “This is not for children!”
I find this episode a bit slow. On a businessman’s perspective, it’s probably good, as the series has a very limited “lifespan” (considering the manga artist’s decision to put this in hiatus indefinitely). But for fans like yours truly, I wish they could skip the unnecessary background of some lackluster characters. In the twenty-something minutes, you only get “meat” in about three minutes. The rest are just scraps.
Still, I know many of the interesting players haven’t appeared yet. And when they do, I’m sure, or rather hopeful, that each episode gets better. |

A couple of shows I'm looking forward to, aside from Agents of SHIELD of course.
Almost Human: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykwxg534yAw Described as: a high-tech, high-stakes action drama set 35 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. An unlikely partnership is forged when a part-machine cop (Karl Urban) is forced to pair with a part-human robot (Michael Ealy) as they fight crime and investigate a deeper cover-up in a futuristic new world. From producers JJ Abrams and J.H. Wyman (Fringe).
Sleepy Hollow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hFg9qS_u3w Description: From co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (the "Star Trek" and "Transformers" franchises, "Fringe") comes the adventure thriller SLEEPY HOLLOW. In this modern-day retelling of Washington Irving's classic, ICHABOD CRANE (Tom Mison, "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen") is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to find that the world is on the brink of destruction and that he is humanity's last hope, forcing him to team up with a contemporary police officer (Nicole Beharie, "Shame," "American Violet") to unravel a mystery that dates back to the founding fathers. |

On episode 81 of Hunter X Hunter: It surprised me that a chimera ant “foot soldier” managed to survive the combined attacks of Gon and Kilua . . .
Kite is either stupid or arrogant (or both) for not turning back and informing the Hunters’ Association about the hive. He could just come back with more “reinforcements” after. Oh well, what’s done is done. Let’s just hope he’d give them a good beating before he himself gets eaten.
It’s nice to see that the internal discord among the chimera ant is slowly being brought to the limelight. It’d be boring if they’re all united against the humans. |

I just wish they'd start the fighting though. This character buildup is starting to get a bit tiresome. Some of the scenes in HxH has suprized me of late - they are pretty graphic for a shounen anime. In this episode it was the impaled horses, and in the previous that whole backstory of the one guy and the death of the Hunter with the bees. |

Indeed. That is why in previous post, I noted that most of the new episodes scream, "This is not for children."
And oh, I haven't read the manga. So out of curiosity, will Kite be eaten and be "part" of the King? |

Because it was Memorial Day weekend and their ratings would've tanked if they'd aired an episode. The same happened to them last year. They aired the episode with Stannis laying siege to King's Landing, one of the most important events of the series and one of the most costly episodes, and their ratings collapsed because it was Memorial Day weekend and nobody tuned in to watch it, so they weren't about to repeat that mistake. |

At least it's not a 2 month mid season break like they did with Walking Dead. |

At least it's not a year long break like with Breaking Bad. Had I known about the GoT break, I'd wait and then watch them all at once. |

I'm curious where you heard this, Red, since Matt himself already confirmed [and the BBC later reconfirmed] that he'd be back for Season Eight next year? |

Never mind. I've since learned from several trusted sources that this is indeed the case.
It's disappointing news, especially since Smith himself said he was encouraged by what he'd read of potential plots for Season Eight. But I guess that'll be another Doctor's trials, now.
...
I'm secretly hoping the 12th Doctor will be female. We really need a different perspective on the ol' Doctor, and I think a Time Lady would be the ideal opportunity for that.

On episode 82 of Hunter X Hunter: Everyone is in greater danger now that one (and soon, many) of the chimera ants has learned to use Nen.
Oh, it is nice to see Kilua switch on his assassin mode. It has been awhile since the last time he has done that.
Their mission has been too isolated so far. I would really like to see the rest of the Hunter community respond to this chimera ant threat . . . |

i think it's almost inevitable that they pick a lady......for whatever reason BBC was never comfortable with the ratings with Smith as Dr and Im afraid they will try something out of the ordinanry and unnecessary to pick up viewers. I think the quality of the writting let the show down not Smith's acting. |

Of course you are.
It's just I've learned from past experience when it comes to DW-news, that a lot of sites tend to run with the latest sliver of a rumour and build whole stories out of it. So I just had to be sure.

Perhaps the BBC should give the primary writing duties to Neil Gaiman. He's done an admirable job on the two episodes he's written so far. |

Episode 84 of Hunter X Hunter: One of the Queen’s Royal Guards, Neferpitou, is born. She’s “dangerously cute” and smart. It’s finally explained how the Chimera Ants’s Nen is “awakened,” with the exception of the Royal Guards, it seems, as Neferpitou (a Specialist) is able to use it without any triggering factors.
There’s one disturbing scene (again) that shows how cruel the Chimera Ants are.
I am surprised with the reaction of one of the Squadron Leaders upon facing Kite. He gauges Kite’s power and finds out he’s beyond him. I still expect him to attack like the foolish half-horse before him, but instead, he retreats, acknowledging defeat but promising a future victory (We have the ability to adapt and learn. We will learn to defeat them,” he says). |

Anyone else watching Burn Notice or Graceland?
BN is in it's final season; I'll be sad to see it go but I'm excited to see how it ends. I've loved it from the start, but I think it's run it's course and I like a show that's willing to bow out instead of dragging on.
GL is growing on me surprisingly quickly. Lot of actors in it who've done bit parts before who're ready to step up to main cast, and I'm glad to see them get the chance. |

Well if you dont care about spoilers. Kite is indeed defeated by the Chimera ants, though he does not end up being part of the king. |

Yes. Ever since the advent of Wikipedia, spoilers do not seem to matter. And yes, I pretty much know what happened during the Chimera Ant arc. Though that does not mean I would not read the manga. Someday I will. |

Good point. Still I try to avoid spoilers myself as they generally interfere with my enjoyment of the book or in this case Tv show in question. I hope you do read the manga, its quite good and not all that long considering that its been around since 1998. Frankly I am more of a fan of the manga version than the anime of which I have only seen a few episodes.
